But not all groceries, everyday transport or fuel. It depends on the seller's Merchant Category Code, and you can't tell that in advance. Groceries only count if bought directly from "major UK supermarkets and most convenience shops". Fuel does not count if bought from a roadside shop which also sells fuel, if the seller has the wrong MCC. If you're not buying from a big name outlet, don't count on the cashback.northwalesd said:2 -
Bee Network might work the same way. There's an option for downloading an invoice for your contactless statements.akh43 said:flaneurs_lobster said:
I've got an app called Credit Card Reader NFC (EMV) on my Samsung. Doesn't seem to have passed my details to bad people.akh43 said:MSE_James said:I used a third-party Android NFC app to obtain the 'real' number of my Chase card, and added that to Airtime.
(choose the app carefully / be aware of security considerations)
Thanks for the tip, but have no idea how that works and how it shows the card number and can I then delete once I find the number or do I need to use it to pay? I have never used my phone to pay I prefer a physical card. Also how do you choose the app carefully as there seems to be quite a few other than look at reviews?
Install it, follow the instructions to get the Chase physical card number, add the number to Airtime. Delete the app.
Add the virtual card number as displayed in the Chase app to Airtime as well.
If you pay for Transport for London services on your Chase card then the details of the transaction shown on the app will show your physical card number. Think that it also shows on your Oyster/TfL account if you've registered the Chase card there.I can't pay for Transport for London as in Manchester so that option a no go too.0 -
Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't pay as I get a free OAP bus pass now.epm-84 said:

Having finally used a Transport for London bus, I can confirm you can still get the physical card details from the app. There was a 10p auth which I clicked through in the Chase app and then an option to see the details.

Until on the Chase app I can see the running balance after each transaction not just the total in the account on the day I look, then it can't act as my main current account. I won't be using it for cashback but it is excellent for use abroad and buying gifts online. I don't want to have to keep downloading statements to compare my position with the previous month. Santander can have my main account as its app is more user friendly.

Has anyone been getting calls from Chase without a clue why they are calling?

Hi I have had a Chase account for several years and find it very useful plus if you phone them they are really helpful and will sort any problems out

The most attractive thing about Chase UK for me, is that there are no mark ups on using their debit card abroad, the exchange rate is the Mastercard rate. Free ATM withdrawals at Chase ATM's in the US is of course great if you're a frequent US traveller. Similar thing for me with using my Santander debit card in Spain, free ATM withdrawals, but I go to Spain more often than the US!
The Chase App, I'm not a fan of because it doesn't employ dark mode and gives me massive eye strain. You'd think that 5 years since launching here in the UK, that they'd have sorted that out by now. That's why I prefer using my LHV, Nationwide or RBS Apps because they do have dark mode.
