If I got rid of everything that didn't "spark joy" I'd be on the side of the road with my dog and the coffee maker.
It'd just be me and the coffee maker :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Today I am grateful for a mild day, for teaching some lovely pupils, for working with some lovely people, for getting stuff done, for my lovely windows, for getting through a huffin' and puffin' workout, for dh putting the house mostly to rights after the windowmen finished, for caramelised onion sausages, for the rugby (I know I often use this, but I love it - even more than WSM)

Turtles I am struggling... Struggling with work and the fact that there are still over 2 weeks until half term and the kids are brats. Struggling with my health - I have a cold of some sort trying to take control and it's making me feel pants. Struggling with my diet - full stop. Struggling to deal with emotional upheaval of ds hospital appointment and solicitors and court appointments coming up. Struggling with being skint and worrying about December. Ah well - I am doing what I always do which is to keep trying.
I am in some way relieved that I have not somehow fallen out of the lovely new sleep pattern I'd established but the poor sleep seems to be due to physical illness and not stress related.
Managed to get to 4 nsd's - there will be many more to come as I barely have 50p to my name at the moment. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Not NSD here - OH picked up a takeaway on his way home and I got DS3 a magazine which came out today (leg0 one) spent all morning directly after school run sorting things at my nan's house - had some cleaners come in and an Est Agent visit. Result is an appt on Fri with EA to get it on the market :T
Left there and came home and changed and brushed hair and washed hands - wanted/ needed a shower but had no time as needed to get to work. Went to work (training session) left there, collected DS3 from school - quick trip to Tesc0 for mag - got home to find my mum waiting for me so we went through some of my nans paperwork. When she left I washed up/ loaded dishwasher, fed smallest and then OH arrived home with DS2 - we all ate, cleared up, did guinea pig, put bins out - I sat down with a cuppa and to catch up on here - and got a call. Whilst I was typing the first bit of this to say my nan had fallen and has been admitted to hospital with chest pains. Someone else is going in though, so I am staying at home unless she is critical (so tired!)
Other than that - donated a large full carrier bag of toiletries and food to harvest festival for food bank:)
Posted yesterday's flebay sale (RM survey stamps) and made another sale on t'bay - will post that tomorrow
Thankful for - flebay sales, having enough to donate, DS2s brilliant mood when he got in, getting some more bits done for my nans stuff, the nhsI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Hugs to anyone who needs one.
NSD 4/15 today. Did a sort out of my toiletries and discovered that the only things I need in the foreseeable future are face cream and heat protection spray. I'm going into town tomorrow to meet a friend so will get while there.
Made a yummy veg packed lentil soup which I had for lunch plus had veg pad thai for tea so certainly got my 5 portions today. However I then made the fatal mistake of baking choc chip cookies so scoffed quite a fewDebt Dec 2022 - £2972.68. Current debt - £0 (100% paid). Flat deposit - £10814.10/£15000 (72.1% saved). An NSD today to add to the tally, did go to shop online - but didn't purchase in the end...so 5/15 NSDs
Woken up pretty early by the neighbours having some noisy power tools being wielded in their garden. I thought the road was being dug up it was so loud. The dogs were unimpressed.
got a fair bit of sorting done & 3 plastic boxes gone outside. made soup for lunch & supper was from stores, also made pudding.
Did get to sit down this afternoon & read a little, finished another pair of the charity socks, will have to send them off. Need to start on the C..mas gifts. Do have preserves for the hampers already made, so ahead for once.
Read Martins' B...it advice & got DH to order us a green insurance card for next trip to Eire - as it will be at the beginning of November.
Hang in there mothernerd & ccl, hopefully things will improve financially & health wise.
Gratitudes: Progress, albeit slow, having a quiet day, lovely colours on the trees, happy animals.
Going to do another 15 mins sorting before turning in, little & often is the key.

You are exhausted physically and spiritually becausethe pace of this sytem was designed for machines and not a magical and divine human being. You are enough. Rest.
If you're struggling you deserve to make self-care a priority.Whether that means lying in bed all day, eating comfort food, crying, sleeping, rescheduling plans, finding an escape through a good book, watching your favourite tv show or just doing nothing at all - give youself permission to put your healing first. Quiet the voice telling you to do more and more, and today, whatever you do, let it be enough.

A FEW BAD FEELINGS AND HOPE TO COPE BEAT THEM
Feeling SUPER TIRED
Go outside - take a walk to stretch your legs
Drink some water
Recharge with a 20 minute nap
Fuel your body with ahealthy snack
Remember You Are AWESOME
Feeling OVERWHELMED
ASK Yourself What is the one thing that, if you completed it, would make the day a win?
Break it down into pieces and get to work
ASK Yourself What am I doing right now? Is this what I should be focused on?
BREATHE, everything will be okay
Remember you are AWESOME
Feeling BAD About Yourself
ASK Yourself Are you even judging yourself on a realistic metric?
- Focus on helping and serving instead of how popular or impressive you are
ASK Yourself What bad things are you saying to yourself?
- Write down 5 good things for every bad one
ASK Yourself What would your bff say?
- Call your bff

Up early to go with mum for our flu injections. Called in 15 minutes before our appointment time. She didn't ask any questions so I had the jab - the flu will have to get used to slogging it out with all my other viruses. Mum had had a letter saying one of the markers on her last blood test was a bit low, so could we have it redone - got the form from the receptionist and went to visit the vampires.
Sat on a bench in the weak sunshine (I had a bag for life and my owl rain poncho for us to sit on). Dropped off in the taxi and did a quick shop - more fruit, more soft rolls + 5 mini packs of sweets for DS3 (I bought sweets for Beloved the other day and none for him) and now back on the bed. Would love another couple of hours sleep but don't know if it will happen. Oven cleaning will be done when I feel like it.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Mothernerd, can you use the sweets for training ds3? Every time he puts away his pizza boxes, he gets a sweet; every time he throws away the cans in the correct container, he gets a sweet
From your stories, Beloved seems willing to do her share, but (quite rightly) unwilling to do more than ds3. Have you impressed upon him that if you can no longer take care of your Mum due to too much stuff to do at home, he will have to take care of you both, so the more he helps you now, the less work it is, in fact, for him? Maybe you are not looking for advice, it's just that I admire how much you get done every day for yourself and your Mum, and ds3 gets on my nerves just from reading about it.

Thanks Siebrie. I have used bribery in the past. When I was waiting for the food to arrive he started asking about how much it would cost to move out (don't hold your breath, it's still a way off).
He's struggling with this latest game. He has a deadline (think it's self-imposed based on when he would receive the money from the host site). I also suggested him stopping the takeaways (he did get it down to 2 per week - pizza on twofer Tuesday and one at weekends) and putting the money in a savings account). In the end I said that I was too ill to cheerlead for anyone else - I had been kind to beloved the day before (also sent him a message to pass on to her as the thing that upset her had been overturned by disability campaigners).
Probably time to threaten him with DS1 again.
It's partly guilt on my part. After the accident I've mentioned in the road safety prep, I suffered from PTSD for two years. he struggled to make friends when he first started school and I always blamed myself as children learn their socialisation skills in the first 5 years and I wondered who many times he approached me and I just had a 'blank face'.
He's a work in progress and it must be my fault - DS1 and DS2 say so and DS3 says it can't be dad's fault because "Daddy wasn't there" (cue Austin Powers number). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
