Mother nerd thank you so much for today's post. I had a sad childhood so know where this comes from. Stubborn and determined mum decided this ends with me, my nearly 13 year old tells me everything I used to dread the MAaaaam as I was turning his light off as knew it was one of the heart breaking moments he wanted to share, he was bullied last year of primary and still has a little bit of a tough time simply because he is a good, kind kid who loves to help, but we have discussed as a family and he now realises not all kids are nice and not all kids have a loving or easy home life. So he is happy being him, but I agree totally encourage the chats..

Not a NSD today £11.20 spent on grocery bits... CRISPS! !! My diet nemesis that I am trying to only have on weekends, a few cleaning bits I needed. I am really happy with a low spend tho as I could so easily have gone for a shopping trip to Cardiff as not paying the debts this month, but no have a month to squirrel cash away until everything kicks in.

I spent the morning helping out at slim world as my consultant friend was going away for the weekend with 4 friends for her 60th, she text me this morning to check all was ok at group and said when she arrived all her family was there mum, kids grandkids friends partner etc she was so overwhelmed bless her. So deserved she is fab, so that's my 2 mornings giving back completed for October...

Enough of a ramble for me no more spending today, going to clean through and make our home nice and cosy and cook a nice tea for when hubby gets home at 8pm.

    Have a nice Saturday turtles..

    Good morning Turtles!
I have made it to half term! woo hoo! Came downstairs to a stiff Mr Hamster. Ex-hamster, so he is lying in state in his fluffy bedding, until I can bury him in a plant pot outside when DS3 comes home from ping pong. I hope they do not decide to become grave robbers because of this, although possibly funeral directors...... or Archeologists. He was about 140 in hamster years.

So now I can move the furniture around in the living room as Mr Hamster no longer needs to be on a side table where he could see what was going on.

Might use up some woodworm stuff on the reclaimed floorboards, will bake a cake to take away with us.

Turtles - we are heading to Hathersage/Castleton so if anyone has any recommendations as to which cavern (Treake vs Speedwell vs Blue John) to go down or which one to miss, or whether the Heights of Abraham is worth it - any advice welcomed. I am trying to s-t-r-e-t-c-h my Turtle Pounds as (very) far as I can.
Right, funeral arrangements, floorboards, baking, menu planning. That sounds like the beginnings of a plan.

I visit this area a lot. Peak Cavern is my favourite (it has another rather cheeky name too), the entrance to it is very dramatic and there are little rooms set up inside where miners used to live. The cable car ride is expensive as apple said but how often do you get to ride in a cable car? I've been up in it twice I think but if I wasn't riding it I don't think I would go up to the top by foot although it is nice up there. Mam Tor is worth the walk, to see the broken road and various little caves on the way and to marvel over the huge flagstones at the top, brace yourself for the wind at the top. I love Kinder Scout - it is my favourite place to walk but it is a proper walk and very easy to get lost, I think the walk from Edale is the safest route up although I always come up the other side, Kinder Downfall is beautiful and with all the rain we've had it might be in full flow. Eyam is very well worth checking out too.

Been out for a walk with DH, DS and the dog today, had a co-op sandwich for lunch and spent a few pounds in the charity shops but this was all money from ebay sales so not too bad.

Made another two sales on ebay yesterday and have more finishing tomorrow. Got one load of washing dry on the line but there was so many towels, jeans and socks I had to throw those in the drier.

Mothernerd that post is so true. Ccl I hope you're doing ok.

We exchanged on the house on Wednesday woohoo move in friday so I'm afraid it's all go go go. Plus its DS 3rd birthday party tomorrow. I have so much to do I dont know if I'm coming or going. :rotfl:Still trying to keep up with my money matters though & stay on track. Lots of coupons used the last few days, build a bear birthday voucher plus the count your candles offer, my LO got a free hire of a push around car in the metro for his birthday & I used a smyths voucher for his gift. I got a free voucher for an LED pumpkin light in Tesco & a free fruit bear snack thing in the post :D & I used boots penny prints offer to get some photos printed off.

Trying to be kind - picked up my neighbours recycling when it blew down the street & offered to buy groceries for a friend who is really struggling financially & put a fairly scary message up on facebook. I dont have the means to help much more but will do all I can.

Finally got my referral from the hospital & I'm there on the 10th Dec, it was originally February but my doctor complained & it was pulled forward.

Sending hugs to all that need them , if no one hears from me I've fallen in a packing box :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi all :j

Great news laurenh1 re your house.

Not an NSD today as DH did some shopping for the buffet we had for supper. So still on 6/15 NSDs

Otherwise all food from stores for lunch, lots of leftovers so maybe food sorted for tomorrow too. Made desserts as well & a couple of those left over as well.

Not too bad weather so put a line of washing out, also cut the grass. Had to as looking at the weather forecast it won't be possible for a while, though you never know. Also swept up some stuff to go in bin, can't wait till I can spend more time outside LOL.

Not much sorting done but will attack tomorrow as only 3 weeks or so till we go away & I want to get as much done as possible before then.

Keep chipping away at it is the only way I think. Things to list on fb tomorrow, do my 15 mins clearing before I turn in tonight too.

Popping in to say hi: Hello turtles!!

Morning, I am sat in my pjs, drinking coffee on the sofa.
Soon I will pack my bag and head off after wrangling kids. I have chosen where we will have lunch, and what we are doing on Monday and Tuesday, so I am nice and relaxed. I don't care how horrid the kids are this morning, they will be fine once they are in a cave system .....

So, I am leaving you on nsd 7 and will 'see' you when I get back.
