Enjoy your holiday f0xh0les - hope the weather stays settled at least...
I'm not great again this morning. Mostly physical - I forget the stressful stuff when I feel physically awful. Whatever virus I'm fighting has made its way to my chest and I have a horrible cough now, which has given me a bit of a sleepless night and left me feeling rough again this morning. I am going to go to the pharmacy for something to help but am hoping to hang onto my nsd otherwise.
I have an hour of tutoring this morning that I really can't afford to cancel to I've taken co codamol and am hoping that I can get through just an hour. If not then I may need to take a day off work tomorrow, which I really don't fancy.
Congratulations on the house Lauren, and good luck with the move.

Today I am grateful for being able to stay inside all day, for fleecy blankets and polar bears, for several naps on the sofa, for healthy food in the fridge, for dd doing her homework fairly peacefully, for the satisfaction of all the needlefelting stabbing.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hugs ccl, have a wonderful break f0xh0les, apple I had to do an assignment on finding an alternative route for a road to replace the fallen away one (impossible as everywhere is a SSSI and similar, but the rail line is under used), Lauren hope every thing goes smoothly (and if you have time weed out things that will not be going to the new house with you).
On Friday I felt brighter, yesterday I was slow (did a little bit in the yard very late on), today I am ill. I ache all over, have been told I've had a sense of humour failure (being compared to someone in the exorcist isn't good).
First meal was the last portion of curry sauce from the fridge (the fridge isn't bare but it's all mint sauce. mayo and salad dressing with a bit of spinach frozen onto the back wall), naan bread which i think Beloved had taken out of the freezer (I left one for her) and a cold pork chop (cooked at mum's on Friday, could have had it warm but thought standing up for another 2 minutes was too much).
Beloved has kindly opened two tins of tuns and put them in a plastic takeaway box. I've smothered them in balsamic vinegar and have four soft rolls left (ate all my ends of fillings at mum's on Friday having failed to find my tin opener, had soup last night because the tin had a pull ring and the rice pudding didn't).
I managed to do food delivery orders for both mum (she gave me a list, mostly toiletries running out) and here. We have lots of food but no yoghurts, ice cream and other sore throat essentials.
I have overspent on my food budget but will still have lots of food to carry into next month. Not sure that my food budget was realistic but if I'm to have savings they need to come from somewhere and there's very little wiggle room on the bills. Have had a problem the last few months but read something yesterday and not having food money after the bills have been paid is on the increase (so I feel a bit less useless). I have also made a lot of purchases recently where the items have been 'needed' for about 5 years and there is only so long you can keep wearing clothes with holes in and needing proper walking shoes.
I promise there will be double inspiation tomorrow (probably on forming new habits and making a life plan - which is not as scary as it sounds, just working out where you are and where you would like to be and then taking steps to move them closer). You can't do it all at once but you have to know what you want or you end up like the couple I told you about last Christmas - both in their sixties and shocked everyone because they have decided to go away to a hotel for Christmas (rather than spend it with their daughters, partners, 5 grandchildren and various members of the extended family) and then on holiday alone (rather than with daughters, partners and children with them footing the bill). They help out with school pickups and minding the children when both daughters are working, so it's not as if they never see them but challenging people's assumptions has been difficult.
Today I am grateful for my bed, for help from Beloved and (slightly patronising) head pat from DS3.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi all:j
Managed to snag another NSD today so now : 7/15 Had a rubbish night's sleep, no idea why it just sometimes happens. Been tired today, but have been OK.
Bad weather all day so have been doing a bit of stuff inside. Still clearing out & packed another couple of boxes & put some stuff away. Made a start in the larder, took out all the containers where stuff had got shoved in with the tops not on properly therefore leaked - & cleaned those, then chucked a lot of OOD sauces etc out. Still more to do, want to have all herbs/spices etc in separate containers. Can't use that larder in the summer as the sunroom gets too hot. Need to see what we can do re shading in there. Bought larder as a bargain, then discovered it wouldn't fit & it was stuck in the hallway for a while, which was tricky. Got friend to come round & he fitted it, but it only fits in sunroom. Need thinking cap on as to what to do.
All food from stores, luckily DD didn't come here so ate leftovers from last night, it was actually nicer.
Made a start on Christmas knitting, it's on very large needles so it feels weird. But a start made, finally.
Didn't sell anything as light too bad to take decent pics. Will get stuff ready & then take pics so they're ready when I am IYSWIM.
Gratitudes: cosy slippers, picture of my friends' gorgeous new puppy, easy food, print belonging to my mother/grandmother put up.

So there it is, take it, use it, tuck it away for a time when your life is less hectic (although it might help to pin things down and work out where you can make improvements). Obviously your responses will vary depending on what stage in your life you are at - if you have a new baby or small children their needs will take priority but perhaps you can find ways of getting some time to yourself (my mother used to call in on her way home from work to look after DS3 whilst I had a bath otherwise I had to take him with me and put him on the bathroom floor in case he woke up).

Morning all!
Unfortunately, I had a spendy weekend
On Saturday I had a family meal, so spent there.
Yesterday, I have been stewing, thinking about the fact that our bathroom looks so untidy with the tall wire shelving things that mean you can see all of your bathroom bits, all of the time, so I went to Argos and picked up an under-sink cabinet and put that together. I'm glad I spent the money - the difference is incredible. Everything neatly hidden behind closed doors :rotfl: I didn't tell OH I'd done it, and he only went in there for the first time to have his shower this morning, so he was pleasantly surprisedhe had said to wait until after our holiday and we would go halves on a tall corner one, but I couldn't find any that would fit without cutting the back away due to pipes, whereas I managed to find an undersink one that would fit with the weird gaps under it, and was half the price
Not planning any spending for the rest of this week, and next week is all-inclusive so I should be able to rack up lots of NSD's in the next two weeks
Oh, and we finally had a doorstep charity bag come through at the weekend, so that has gone out today0 -
Hello, just a quick check in after our holiday/time off work for a week.
Went to the enchanted forrest and it was great again, as were the few days in a log cabin nearby. I also had a few days in the house gardening, decluttering and cleaning (all I say is I need to move the couch to clean under it more often).
Also managed 3 runs while off which was better than during the usual holiday. And although I didn't manage not drink/smoke at all, I significantly reduced it. In the past it got worse on holiday again. And I managed to stick to most of my new habits even on holiday, like getting up before the kids for me time, daily gratitude journal, daily meditation and doing sth for me like read/crochet/garden.
I'll catch on all the posts I missed later and update my numbers. Good news, behaved spending wise (spend most days and lost NSD, but spent less than planned overall):money: and drinking wise (pat on shoulder):D, DH finally got a new job :j after god knows how many interviews but the car broke down yesterday(hopefully less then 1k to fix plus service though. That's the gist of it.
