Today I am grateful for being able to meet dd after school, for chatting about money and savings with her, for a relaxed end to the day, for the whopping great humungous potatoes in the sackful I got at liddle (one tato feeds 4), for a parking space near the house, for a lovely calm colleague at work sorting out a stressed repetitive colleague where I was unable to do so, for dd saying that sheneeds toeat a wider variety of foods.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Humungous potatoes must be rife at the moment we had 8 jackets from tsecos this week as they were down to 18p each and they are the biggest I have ever seen 1 potato topped a shep pie on the weekend.
Grateful today for time spent with my DS, losing another pound in sw, and lovely friends.NST October #24.

Evening
A busy crazy manic day at work and stressed silly
Realised I have to take control, and not let it dictate how my life runs. As I am not wanting to go to the gym, I am going to design a home exercise programme - nothing overly taxing but something - anything to get me moving and doing some activity after work. I'll use the goal setting plan that was posted yesterday.
I am going to just have healthier treats in the house (if i want anything else I'll have to walk (= exercise!) to the shops haha.
Chipping away at the old debt mountain... another £30 off today.

Hi all:j
Managed another NSD today so now : 9/15
DD back home last night having been violently sick whilst driving (pulled over) but messed up her clothes. Was due to stress at work. Sorted her out as if she was a small child, including a furry rabbit hwb. She scoffed when she saw it (was mine from CS 50p) but fell asleep almost straight away. And said I could have wrapped it up for C...mas!!
A little progress on clearing but not much today. Bad weather first thing but sunny in the afternoon. Did have an hour in the front garden & have an idea for the rockeries...which if it works will be great.
Finished one bit of knitting for Cmas, it was very quick to make but might have to undo the top as not fully happy with it myself. That's OK as I did it so early.
DH still ordering & trying various types of carpet cleaner in DR - none of which work. Keep telling him it will have to be replaced.
All food from stores, supper from freezer which still appears stuffed full.
Gratitudes: lovely afternoon & some fresh air, DD being better, free socks which arrived in the post..

Good morning,
hugs to everybody that struggles just now.
I always thought meditation, gratitude and mindfulness was a bit of treehuggery. Oh no, my narrow minded attitude has totally changed since I tried them out. Not the "solution" to all problems obviously but it helps me dealing with certain issues/stresses. Love it now and it definitely benefited my head/mood/well being.
Sunny day here, going swimming at lunch.
I'm in the process of emptying the freezer to defrost. Mirrored that in my food order for tomorrow. Will used all ramdom veg in work's lunches. Prepared a smoothie mix for tonight with freezer burnt fruit and took dinner (pork shoulder steaks) out.
Still got a bucket of apples from our tree sitting there and they are starting to go soft as we don't have a cellar to store them (how do people store them here as most houses don't have cellars?). So I will make a batch of apple sauce tonight and maybe be freeze some for smoothies/apple pie.
Have a nice dayDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

DECLUTTERING TIPS FOR HOARDERS
(or those who were raised not to throw anything that might be useful)
1* DON'T EXPECT TO SEE A DIFFERENCE OVERNIGHT
It didn't happen overnight and it will take time to get used to decluttering (discarding) .
Things won't get better jsut because you threw something away BUT that is not an excuse not to do it.
2* PICK AN EASY PLACE TO START
Pick an area of your house or an item that's going to be easy to tackle (pizza boxes) to get into practice
Decluttering gets easier with practice as you learn to sift through things get used to making decisions on whether you want to keep it or not
3* DEAL WITH THE "WHAT IF" SCENARIO
What if I need it in the future?
The worst that can happen is that you will need to buy another. The benefits of getting rid of all the things you don't need far outweigh the chance that you might have to buy a replacement for one of the things you discarded.
4* DECLUTTER IN WAVES
Don't go from all to nothing in one go. The first time around grab all the big things that you don't like or never use and start with those. Then sit and get comfortable with what you've thrown out and what you've got left.
DECLUTTERING MADE SIMPLE
5* DEAL WITH THE WASTE OF MONEY ARGUMENT
The waste occurred when you bought the item, not now
6* DECIDING WHAT TO KEEP
Keep it simple. Just ask yourself 3 things
Do I love it? Is it useful? Does it add value?
If the answer to all 3 is no, then it goes.
7* HAVE A PLAN FOR YOUR DISCARDED ITEMS
Have a plan for what you are going to do with the unwanted stuff. Don't stop until you have taken the things to the charity shop or tip.
8* SET A TIMER
Sometimes big tasks need to be broken down into small manageable chunks. If it seems like too much, set a timer for tn minutes and do what you can until th alarm goes off.
9* GO EASY ON YOURSELF
You've been a hoarder for a long time, don't give yourself a hard time if you find it difficult to declutter. Minimalism is so much more than getting rid of your possessions.
Decluttering is just the start of a whole paradigm shift in your thinking and changing your old thought patterns to new ones takes time and perseverance.
