Got some more clearing done in the garden yesterday morning (almost done now) before succumbing to a general feeling of unwell ness and then spending several hours hibernating under a blanket. Fed smalls but ended up eating toast for dinner for me. Stomach still feels weird this morning but woozy head has gone :)

Bit more sorting with ds3 yesterday and even already this morning (he is so amenable to it right now) and also listed 2 more things on flebay yesterday (1 already has a bid) Collected together a tub of old phones this morning - I know there are a couple more hanging around, too. When all found I will go through them and keep 2 for spares - 1 basic payg non smart phone (useful for school trips where smart phones aren't allowed) and 1 (hopefully an unlocked one...) old smart phone for a spare in case of damage. Rest can go for recycling - several are damaged anyway. Will have a sort out on charging leads when I get to that point, too....

Cashed out on pr0l1fic yesterday so rounded it up and transferred amount to holiday fund. Still have a good amount in current account (even taking half term into account) so paid £50 to btl mtge. Will look to transfer any spare at month end to holiday fund - would be nice to achieve our target early, if we can :)

Still need to change some broken fence posts/ panels, but it is too wet to do anything like that at the mo :(

Another 3 items added to cs bag and a holey top to rag recycling. This month so far has been a very good month for getting rid :T Hopefully I can take the 3 bags to the cs this week....

Relatively easy day planned - ironing to catch up tv and some craft with ds3. Maybe board games later - always enjoyed by the smalls :)

    Happy Sunday :) x

    Good morning Turtles.
Just call me Florence Nightingfox. I have taken control as 'the cough' seems to be spreading to DS3 and 4 now. The soup pot is on. More apples are stewing - they went down an absolute storm last night, for practically no effort, and as I am a firm believer in food as medicine (everyone else in this house thinks I am a nut) I have banned everyone else from the kitchen unless it is to make drinks.

Also remembered I need to wash the school blazers (a half termly act) for going back to school tomorrow (boo!) a NINE week half term heading to the C-word holidays. I also know the date for the primary C-word fair (always good for a bargain) and I have the after school clubs to pay for - why are they free at secondary school but not for primary? It is not like the primary ones are even blowing anything up! It is because they have outsourced to a local company to do the sports with their devolved budget. Grrr.
I have also noticed during my ingredients list reading exploits, suddenly, milk powder has been added as the very last ingredient on a lot of products. After B and D vitamins, and dust. I can only guess that it is to stop them getting sued in case of cross contamination.

So keep checking labels, or make your own. Although having said that, Mr Mac-Vitie has just announced their digestives are now vegan friendly.

Morning all :) I like the list you posted overnight, mothernerd, nice one, a great deal of that speaks to me. I got back from holibob on Friday, working fairly constantly at clearing up from that (a LOT of clothes to be washed, just for starters!). I have a ridiculous length to do list on my phone, but already managed 14/33 - though I think I've gone slightly wrong in updating the email account that may have been hacked, I've enabled google push, and its driving me crazy with constant alerts, grrr. Aha, just found the "silent" button.

Lots of focus on self care while I was away - a dietitian advised on how to get enough omega 3, as a vegetarian (walnuts, soy beans, and rapeseed oil), for instance. I had a play at a couple of craft classes as well - thats definitely something to take forward, especially as I have quite a stash :o. Maybe when I go catsitting next month.

I'll start updating from the original post tomorrow.

Cats love to lie on your sewing/ embroidery - well they love to lie on your lap and be the centre of your attention and ignore any books/ sewing/ keyboards that are in the way. Such fun having a cat walk over your keyboard adding tis own little words and leaving black hairs all over your sewing (I learned to always have something to hand to cover it up so that if I had to go and answer the door or phone I could leave it cat proof - never worked out how they managed to get hair inside the fridge and on tea towels that had been washed and put away in drawers.

Florence Nightingfox keep up the good work. I once averted the spread of stomach bug by giving everyone in the house (mid-week) an antiseptic wipe and an allocated area (kitchen, door handles and the places where people push the door open, taps and the stair rails). Had to ask the ADHD boy if he would remember two instructions (No) so we settled for one and then for him to come back to me for a second task.

Took DS for a haircut yesterday and then in the afternoon DH & I went to a local musuem which is free, lovely couple of hours in there and the park, they had a nice display of some of the costumes from Gentleman Jack - which I didn't watch but they were really lovely.

Cycled this morning then packed up a few sandwiches and a flask and went out for the rest of the day. I have bought some more charity shop items but that is it.

A couple of years ago we bought DD a lovely black metal bed on ebay for £30, she sits on her bed and being almost 16 she is adult weight really and the metal bars that form the base have bent where she sits, I mentioned we would replace it with a wooden frame when we found one but she really loves the bed and what would we do with it if we did replace it. I suggested to DH that we remove the bars and replace them with wood, it wouldn't be seen and would be strudier. Well today a really weird thing happened, when we were cycling home someone had put 2 bundles of single bed slats outside their house. We asked if we could pop them inside the gate and come back in the car - we did and are going to fit them this evening. A circular economy at its best.

F0xhles - we always check every label for gluten contamination. As soon as they use a different design on the label, or if a product has been unavailable for a little while and then reappears, then it is time to check the previously 'safe to eat' list.

Karma - I giggled at the thought of you crafting with cats around...

Dolly - great find on the freebed slats!

Greent - how's it going with dh around so much more?

Today I am grateful for waking up without the alarm clock, for getting my butt outside and going for a short run first thing, for helpful friends looking after me, for getting the soggy back lawn mowed (it's not pretty, but at least it's better than it was ), for my giant sunflower heads starting to look like they have seeds so I can leave them out for the birds, for dd going through her drawers ready to hit the ch shops knowing what she wants/needs, for big sis and I being of one mind when it comes to mum and her needs.

    Good evening all!!!

Had a nice weekend, spending some with my folks and today with the other half. Went for a nice walk and appreciated the lovely Autumn leaves and weather.

No more NSDs to claim, but will be on a very thrifty week this week as my spending money for the month all but gone. Plenty in the food cupboards though so will most definitely not starve!!!

Back to work tomorrow... but I am choosing to be grateful for my job and the income it brings, and the opportunities it gives me to help others.

Thanks again for the inspiring posts!

    Night all ;)
