    Good morning,

hopefully a SFD today although I will have to get some more Hedrin. Might get it under the minor ailments rule for free like last time, if not it's medical I guess?

I did my food inventory, meal plan and shopping list for Friday his morning. Not sure yet if I order Asda again or go to Aldi.

Last night was great, got some painting done, listened to my audiobook while crocheting and went to bed before 10 as hubby was out. So up bright and early for me time end planning etc.

Had to speak to amazon yet again about my fee refund from the seller account. Will hopefully get sorted this week. Also hoping to get my refund from my old energy supplier as they got my final reading last Monday and said the final bill takes about a week from then and it's been 7 working days now.

EDIT: Got the Hedrin for free again. Saved me about £15, plus I got the oily lotion I asked for which is behind the counter and only the shampoo and mousse are in the aisles.

Swapped a huge bag of old clothes (mainly unwearable/ recycling) for a £5 off £25 spend at HnM today :) - DD or DS1 will no doubt use it at some point on jeans/ tops :)

Had a meeting with the accountant today so parking and mileage for that will be expensed - small amount (<£20) - will transfer to holiday fund :)

Grateful for HnM's clothes recycling policy, the mist burning off to sunshine, for having a plan with regards to OH's company, for a free choc sample from H0tel Ch0c01at when I nipped in to check Xmas treats :)

    Hi all

I dont know where the days/weeks are going - there have been some spendy and non spendy days but the spends have never been extravagant and always been justified..

Spent on financial advice today as my ex and I are selling our property and I am looking to save that money for now. I intend to clear the debt decks and be a grown up in taking responsibility and organising finances, a will etc. I am not quite ready to buy another place as I'm not sure where I want to end up living and what job I want to do. This end of an era is sad but Im grateful that we still care for one another and are on good terms :)

Babycat is on the mend, the buster collar came off last week and he has been busy chasing his ping pongs around the flat again :D we are having a chill out on the bed til the washing machine finishes and I head off to work..

    Have a good day turtles!

  • Hello
Sorry for my absence. Rollercoaster of life is taking me on all sorts of ups and downs at the moment - so it's very much a case of one foot in front of the other and just survive.
I've badly overspent this month and I'm really stony broke, with a week still until payday. I wish I knew where it all went. There must be something else that I can be cutting back on...
Anyway, on the plus side, I only have 2 more get ups to survive before half term, and I had a lovely crochet based weekend away.
No idea how I'm doing on the nsd front - lost count ages ago...

Today I am grateful for a lazy day, for dd learning new tunes on her ukulele, for scrummy bacon + green tomato soup, for finally swapping dd's room and the back bedroom over, for dh and I still being married after disassembling and reassembling both dd's high-up bed (along with changing the end that the ladder goes) and dh's massive desk, for wood glue/hardener stuff for the inevitable splitting of wood (sigh), for dd's freestyle shoes arriving in time for her to practice in them before her exam.

Still only on NSD8, but I don't really have much money left for this month, so I am going to have to get quite a few more in before payday. I don't have a choice! 7 whole days to get through til payday.

I foresee soup in the lurking wastelands til next Thursday (1 garden veg, 1 sweetcorn and butterbean chowder, 1 veg stew and dumplings) The pantry is going to have to be creatively used. :j

My kids are being rotten, properly awful this week. They think it is fine to ignore me when I ask them to do something, but if I do not do what they ask of me immediately, then I am 'evil mum'. They cannot see the hypocrisy, I am just being lazy.

Night sweats and aching bones are back with a vengeance this week. Strangely I did not miss it when it went away for a couple of months. :(

Hope mothernerd is having a wonderful relaxing time in the lakes, although half term might make quite a few spots rather busy this week.

Splatted a pesky frog today as well, painted woodworm treatment on some floorboards I [STRIKE]robbed [/STRIKE]recycled from someone else last month. They are now de-nailed and ready to go down in the bay window. Good cheap fun (apparently).

    hi all:j

Still no elusive NSD as we went out to get a key cut, which is right next door to a ginormous Tosco where DH was to have his flu jab. So I did some shopping & stocking up of items I can't get elsewhere...prices are pretty high in there though, ouch. Only got one key cut though & no vaccine so no jab for DH till next week. Still on 12/15

Out in the morning & actually managed to plant some bulbs outside in the rockery. Cut down some cardoons to make tea light decs...not sure if it will work but we'll see.

Then attacked the high cupboards in the kitchen, cleared one side. Threw a lot of stuff away, the rest is gradually going in the DW to get clean, then may go to CS if we don't want it. They make the most money from bric-a-brac. There are still 2 cupboards to go, who knew we had so many vases???? The newspaper underneath the lining paper dates to …….1997...wow a genuine antique.

Lunch was all from stores but supper was.....F&C that DH has been petitioning for for weeks.

Tomorrow will attack the cupboards again - have to get the big ladder to reach them, hence why we have no idea what's in them & clearly haven't needed the contents forever.

Gratitutes: lovely autumn day, washing dry on the line, late roses, helpful DH.

Popping in to say hi: Hello Turtles!!

f0xh0les - my kids are just the same.

apple - we were 3 years all in with the orthodontist. DD's teeth were coming through all over so luckily they fit the NHS criteria so we didn't have to pay (DS has one tooth that needs straightening and he quoted £2.5K), she had the braces on 2 years and then 1 year of follow up appointments. It is amazing though. On the day your DD has them fitted give her painkillers beforehand and also before each adjustment.

Thank you dolly! I've made the appt for dec after dd breaks up. They said that schools have to treat their appts like hosp appts and give them the time off withut complaining, but we already have at least 2 hosp appts in the year, so I didn't want to push it. Yet...

We are out clothes shopping today for dd. Having been through what she has, it turns out that she has a fair old list of needs if she is not to shiver her way through the next 5 months...
