Today I am grateful for a good day at work, for enjoying what I do, for dh having bought a gadget to inflate flat tyres using the cigarette lighter thingy, for getting home safe and sound, for being able to meet dd from school, for bumping into another mum there who I know, for a new 10mm lovely squishy workout mat, for spearing a frog, for contact with my cousin.

Evening all, just a quick post to say #11 NSD today. All food from home and lunches prepped for work and school.

Gratitudes.. Spending evening with DH didn't see him at all yesterday which is sad, but work we must.
Having my bank card dropped into work for me as someone found it on the road this morning and handed it into the local spar.
And lastly grateful for a cosy house all nice and clean with TOMM.

    Take care Turtles..x

I have been out for a slow prolongued hobble around town. Bought some of my presents from mum and some bits for other people, mainly charity shop purchases. There are some things I 'need' (unglamourous things like sheets for my bed and want some things to help keep the litchen 'going' for another few years) and I was in danger of ending up spending all the money on the house rather than myself.

Today I am grateful for my bed (another sleepy, snoozy day), for getting as far as I did (with lots of sit downs) and for a peaceful time sittting on the square admiring the autumn leaf colours (+ two rather magnificent speder's webs which have used my windowframe).

    Hi all:j

Not an NSD so still 9/15 Not a great sleep which always means I don't get as much done as I could normally. Then had to listen to a tale of woe from DH who needed to find some insurance document so spent ages looking for it. Found part of it & DD had the other on her phone so all was (eventually) well.

Bright sunny day so got some towels washed & line dried - the washing looks like it's taking over the bathroom currently.

Mowed the back lawns again, surely it must be stopping growing soon...

All food from stores or supplied by DD....also made an apple cake that turned out well so had that for pud.

No more progress on clearing but a little on cmas gifts.

Gratitudes: gorgeous colours in the garden, happy animals running around, DD helping to make lunch, furry hwb..

Popping in to say hi : Hello turtles!

Had to google TOMM, sounds interesting and website looks good. Will give it a read later. Need to find a flexible routine to stay on top of things rather than just always play catch up.

Spend day today as we'll pick up Asda. Dinner will be two mini steak pies made from LO beef stew and scraps of puff pastry. Otherwise not much to report.

    Catch ya later

Listening to the audiobook "outer order inner calm". It's quite repetitive by using different examples for the same thing but it hits a sore spot eventually. The work desk section came up while at work and I got that done. Amazing what I kept in my desk for "just in case", what wasn't needed anymore and could be taken home and the gym clothes I hate but still kept.

Our garden behaved strange this year (eastern Scotland) as we only had to cut the grass 3-4 times (usually every two to 3 weeks). Also the pampas/reed/not sure what grass only grew to half it's usual size. Most veg grew fine though.

    Hello! I am back!
Oooh! Thrifty has swingers' grass! who knew?
Great time had by all until 7.30 last night when DS2 and 3 went at it hammer and tongs and had to be physically separated. So embarrassed. Met lots of quite strange people. Older people, some yoga people, one Miriam Margolys but younger person. Very strange people in the YHA in off season, all lovely and friendly, but just a tad on the far side of erm 'conventional', or possibly their grasp on reality was none too tight. Oh well, harmless but barking. Keeps them off street corners.

So, today's fun and thrilling plans are

    1. Put the heating on - it is cold here today,
    2. do a cupboard/pantry/freezer inventory and see what I can make with the smallest shopping list possible.
    3. Do the laundry
    4. Make something easy for supper.
    5. Check the bank balance to see how much money is left, and what the cc bill is going to be, and how much I have left between the two. I don't want to take any debt with me at the end of this month.

DS1 seems to have missed me - he ran out of bread on Wednesday, and did not think to buy any more, so he informed me when I got home we had run out. Luckily I had half a loaf left that I brought home with us, so I have not yet spent any money today. Possible NSD in the making!
So, I have just caught up with all your goings on and will now put the kettle and washer on, and do that inventory!

Sorry it's late, I was logged out of the forum this morning and even worse, it was the 'new' format. Decided to leave it rather than trying with poorly flu filled head. Just got home from mum's and logged in and it automatically went back to 'old' format. Sigh of relief.

I am away in the Lake District from Monday to Thursday so will do extra imspiration to keep you all going in my absence. Departed a bit from my agenda, as some days bits came up that seemed so apt for the moment. As usual, take anything that is useful (even if it's just something that makes you laugh instead of feeding your offspring to the wolves) and make it your own, ignore anything that isn't 'you' and just keep plodding when all else fails. You've got through worse things, this too will pass.

What if all I want is a small, slow, simple life? What if I am most happy in the space of in-between? Where calm lives.

Shhhhht, don't tell anyone :o. We had loads in the front garden from the old owner till someone told me what it could mean, now we only have some on the side of the house to hide some ugly concrete and chuckies.

I so have to tell this to DH when he complains yet again that his 84! year old dad struggles sometimes. To his credit this man uses an iPad and laptop. My dad is only in his 60s and still can't drag and drop never mind text on his old style phone.

I never knew that about the grass!!

Today I am grateful for not having that grass in the garden, for being able to run home when the rain pelted down, for getting out and about, for the hygienist saying that I have 'good oral hygiene', for a workout at the gym, for dd going to a youth event, for half term having finally arrived, for a dry home when outside is just so grim and grey and damp, for rugby to look forward to tomorrow!
