Morning Everyone
Well yesterday was pretty much a wash-out....came down with a horrible Headache.....Still have the remnants of it this morning....but hopefully it will pass over....It will have to as I'm out from 7am until about 3pm this Afternoon....so fingers crossed it will leave me alone!!
On the plus side....I added another Fiver to my Emergency Fund....I know I've only got £15 in there so far....but it's £15 that I have worked hard to earn and have managed to earn...so I'm pleased with that....

A big well done to you too Helen, you should be proud of yourself too, that's £15 more than you had when you started the challenge, you are doing really well. Baby steps still take you on the same journey :TI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Just popping in to read how you're all doing. Brilliantly, as I knew you would:T:beer:
Nothing further added for me but nothing taken out either so shouldn't grumble:)
I like Skye Blue's idea of buying a Premium Bond with each £100 saved:T. With interest rates as low as they are there's not much to lose and possibly a lot to gain;)
I'm glad Grandad is on the mend, Helen:beer:
Hugs to anyone feeling down, ill, worried or tired-out:grouphug:0 -
Good afternoon.
Just updating to let you know that I have paid another £50 into my emergency fund. It's getting there slowly and surely.
I could now afford to replace my oven if it was to break.
I have also reached over 10% of my target. Hooray!!
:j
Might have a look at premium bonds like skye blue has suggested. My interest rate is pretty much 0% as it is an account linked to my mortgage. I will have a nosey and see what it involves as I don't really know anything about premium bonds at all.

Hi Stewby
Is it an account which offsets your mortgage? If so, technically you're saving at your mortgage interest rate.
I have a Spanish Bank 123 account which pays me 3% (over £3,000) and that's where I kept my fund.

The TSB plus account gives you 5% on any balance up to 2k so worth a look at that.
Admittedly you have to do a few things to get the interest like paperless statements and correspondence and register online banking, pay in £500pcm etc. but gives a reasonable return on an EF.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Morning Everyone....
Well I'm feeling pretty exhausted this morning and wiped out...Not sure if I'm coming down with something....hopefully not!!
Grandad is due home today I think....so we're keeping our fingers crossed for that....and hopefully we can make him comfortable at home and get things back to normal for him...
Nothing extra to report for me money-wise....
Dobbibill - Thank You for your encouragement hun, it means a lot.... xXx
carbootcrazy - Thank you for your thoughts about my Grandad...and great news that you haven't had to take anything out of your EF....that's great news!! xXx
stewby - I've Updated the First Page...can I just check that your EF now stands at £180.76?? Thanks xXx
Thistlewhistle - I hope you are doing well....How are you getting on with your Emergency Fund? Do come and let us know xXx0 -
Good morning, Helen. Another early bird, like me:). Actually, this is extra-early even for me but I'm running someone to the airport soon. How lovely it must be to jetting off to the sunshine. I think better weather would cheer us all up;)
Sorry to hear that you're feeling exhausted, Helen. You pack so much in every day that it's not surprising you feel wiped out, and the worry about your Grandad won't have helped. I hope his move back home goes according to plan and that he's much happier when back in his familiar surroundings:beer:
Have a good weekend, let's hope without coming down with anything.
Take care x0
