Morning Peeps
Grandad is home but not doing great.....We're getting him assessed to see what they can do in terms of adding things to the House....He's not in a life-threatening place, just life-limiting for him right now....But hopefully he'll be fine....
Nothing to Report money-wise....I need to build at least a fiver a week into my Budget for my Emergency Fund and I shall aim to do that from next Week....
sophieo16 - You're very lucky with your Parents, I'm very lucky with Mum but it sounds like you're a great Daughter as well....Hope you get to do more Carboot Sales soon hun... xXx
lexbubbles - You are doing absolutely AMAZING hun....Keep it going....I know you will get there xXx0 -
Glad to hear that your granddad is home Helen, and I hope that the assessment will provide things that help out. I've been lurking but not contributing because.... (drum roll please).... my house transfer is complete!!! :j:j:j After four long and expensive years of trying to get my toxic ex off the deeds, it finally happened yesterday. He's still threatening to take me back to court over a sewing machine and some records (you actually couldn't make this stuff up), but that should all be done and dusted this time next week. I'm just revelling in the fact that, despite all his threats, he wasn't able to make me and my kids homeless. They're over the moon. Coupled with DS now having one unconditional offer and two conditional offers for university, with two interviews still to go, it's been a pretty fabulous (if utterly exhausting) week!

Congratulations on your good news Durangirl. I hope that your battle with your ex will be over soon and for good. I salute you for your patience and endurance. Thumbs up on the good news about your son's university prospect. What is he planning to study if you don't mind me asking? My DS1 is also applying for uni next year. So far he's had conditional offers on all the universities he applied for with invitations for a look around. I wish he doesn't have to study away from home but if he feels like moving away is necessary for his growth who am I to stand in his way? They will be our babies forever but we must learn to let go. Thanks OnlyGirl! I'm hanging on in there.. DS is planning to study Game Art Design. He's been touting his portfolio everywhere and getting lots of good feedback, which is brilliant as he's a little lacking in confidence in his abilities. He also takes commissions for painting Warhammer models, which seemed to impress them quite a bit today. He could end up anywhere between 45 minutes and 2 1/2 hours drive away. I will miss him dreadfully, although he's now classed as a mature student, as the malarkey with his father set him back a bit and it took him a while to get back on track, so I have had him at home three years longer than I should have done. My DD went off to uni in September and she's in London studying music (we're an arty farty family
) - I sobbed for half an hour on the tube after I'd dropped her off! Losing a musician from the household was a huge gap because it went really quiet, but she's not far away, technology is great for keeping in touch (although she is exasperated at my lack of Skype ability). My partner and I went to visit her last week to see her perform, so the time apart makes those events really special. I always told them that I wanted them to have "roots and wings" - roots so they know that they have a home with me to come back to (which they definitely do now!!!) and wings so they can fly wherever they wish. What an old softie I've turned into...:rotfl:

Morning Everyone.....
Well we're all a little tired here.....Not getting much sleep due to stress, anxiety and worry about Grandad.....But he's doing okay and just about managing to shuffle around the House, albeit very slowly and carefully....
Nothing to Report money-wise for me...Won't be until next Thursday at least....
However I DO have some good news....I've been Training as a Psychotherapist for the last 6 years or so.....and this Week I have FINALLY gotten 3 Private Clients that I am being paid for.....I am still doing Voluntary Work but there is good reason for that....But it means that I have a little extra money, although never guaranteed as Clients are free to leave and stop Therapy at any time....but it is a VERY positive step forwards and one that I am thrilled about....Hopefully my Private Practice can grow in leaps and bounds....
DuranGirl - Thank you for your well-wishes about Grandad....I'm sooooooooooooooo pleased for you about your House, I know what it's like to get threatened with having to move House and it's a horrible unsettling feeling....Now the House is ALL YOURS!!!!Also great news about your Son getting into University...it sounds like both of your Children are very talented....I remember going to Uni on the first Day and I was terrified and very tearful....didn't know anyone.....Thought my Halls of Residence was appalling....but I grew to love being there and think of my Days there very fondly.....Your Son and Daughter will be just fine.... xXx
The Only Girl - How are you doing? University is a very confusing time but also a wonderful Experience.....It made me start to grow up (something that I'm still continuing to do even now!!).....and I made Friends and had a ball.... xXx

DuranGirl, that is fab news, well done you for not giving in. All good things come to those who wait and you have certainly waited and been patient for it to last 4 long years. Really pleased for you. Well done to your DS too, my DS3 is at uni and is loving it and is having the time of his life
Helen, thoughts for you and your Grandad. It's easy for me to say, try not to worry although I understand it's natural to worry. Think of your own health too though, you'll be in no fit state if you don't sleep. :grouphug:

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. As the final hurdle approaches (the last of his stuff is due to be collected next week - why he couldn't have taken it during the last four years and why his solicitors need to be so vile is beyond me - would the courts really reopen a case for a sewing machine and records if I can provide evidence that I've been bending over backwards to get this sorted???), I'm feeling a bit low today. I've got the day off and I slept really late (catching up on the last four years of insomnia, I expect!):). Once I got up, there was a huge temptation to mope on the sofa under a blanket, but I made myself do something productive instead. I kept telling myself just to declutter five things (I'm on a challenge there too). Well, I managed ten things and have now also ebayed five bundles of costume jewellery.:) I feel a lot happier now that I've been productive (I'm sure Helen will have something to say about that as our resident psychotherapist - congratulations!!!:T), so I can settle down this afternoon under my blanket with my cross stitch and my Quantum Leap box set. Pizza delivery tonight with DS to celebrate uni offers (it's our tradition now!), and a weekend at the cinema to look forward to. :jOne step at a time, as m'chap keeps telling me!3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200.
