Well done everyone:T. This thread is such a massive inspiration:A

abundant, I know exactly what you mean about taking an honest look at yourself as I need to do the same thing myself. Unlike you though I already know what I'm doing wrong but despite trying so hard I just don't seem able to stop lapsing back into bad ways:o

My big character fault is procrastination, always has been and probably always will be:o. I tend to work best to deadlines and the nearer they are the quicker and more efficiently I do things. I was like it at school and university with assignments and in the end, through burning a lot of midnight oil, I always did well. Lack of sleep was never a problem, thankfully. Some things in life though don't respond well to leaving to the very last minute.

I was congratulating myself that my old car was doing well when I had a major fault occur on New Year's Day and came to a sudden halt. No garages open of course . This was mainly because I'd kept putting off having a service:o. Luckily I'm in the AA and repair costs were nil when I broke down but I had to pay for the parts. This EF is my 'new' car fund so I really must pull out all the stops to build it up as soon as possible. Absolutely no excuses!

I love 2017 being The Year of Possibilities:j. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the year I get a grip and stop procrastinating after a lifetime of doing it:o

    Hey Carbootcrazy...

Thank you. Procrastination is also one of my challenges this year... in my personal life. I put off meeting friends, and cancel dates and then suddenly I realise life has passed me by. Part of this is due to anxiety/depression... but if I'm truly honest and dig deep... a lot of that has been caused by me choosing to take a back seat in life. It's a catch 22.

I'm not sure what I'm scared of - or what's to lose... I guess I just feel safe in what is known, and in my own surroundings. Maybe inviting people over is the answer!

So not strictly (or at all!!!) about the 3-6month EF challenge, but I guess knowing we all have personal challenges to overcome makes us more 'real' and when we achieve our goals on here... it's all the more amazing!

    Morning Lovelies :)

Well I think I'm finally feeling much better...Still coughing now and again but certainly better than I was...a LOT better...so that's good news!! :D

I'm glad that the "Year of Possibilities" seems to be speaking to you....Take from it what you will, think about what you want to achieve this Year and know that there may be a scenic route but you WILL get there in the end.... :):):)

I should be getting another Pot in the next couple of days so I can put some money in it when I get it....Should be able to start off with some decent money and keep building it up across the Year....

    Here's to the Updates....

abundant1972 - I've Updated the First Page....You're doing AWESOME!! I know you can do it...Just keep on going and moving forwards.....It's good to look at yourself, I try to do that a lot and I always think it's a work in progress....But it's good to do I find....and you will get there hun xXx :)

Dobbibill - I've Updated the First Page, you're doing AMAZING....I know you will hit your Target very soon... xXx :)

carbootcrazy - We all repeat patterns, it's what we do as people I think.....It's about moving forwards even if it takes a lot of repeating of patterns....We all get there in the end....I'm sorry to hear about the Car, hopefully it will get fixed.... xXx :)

    Hi Helen and everyone

    Hope you are well

Had a few refunds from stuff bought before xmas and returned, or realised I didn't really need, so decided to round it all up and put into the savings as the money had already gone from my budget so £150 to add please

Hope tomorrows weather is a bit brighter than todays

    Thanks all
  • Hello

Can I join please? Most of my money at the the minute is getting shoved into house deposit savings, but buying a house without anything put by for emergencies seems to be asking for trouble!

I'd like to save £5000 as a starting point. That should cover me for a few months if I lose my job.

I'm starting with £1382/5000. Here goes!

Hi dfbefore30 and welcome to the thread. :hello:

Of course you can join......you have a good plan to get an EF behind you if you are soon to become a property owner.

Helen will give you a number and add your target to the first page when she pops in.

You are doing really well to be over 25% of the way already, so well done.

Hi everyone hope everyone is doing well. Posting and running as usual sorry..

Please can you add £30 to my total making it £315 of my new target.
  • Hi Helen and everyone

Hope you are all keeping warm and dry

Please could you add another £100 to my total (£750) now

I received some cash back from my mobile phone offer (been months I had forgotten about it) together with some coins I bagged up)

Wilko's had some good 75% offers and a couple of things I bought went through at 60p that were originally £5. Plenty of xmas lights but didn't need any so stepped away!! Hope this helps any bargain hunters, but not encouraged you to spend!!

Nearly weekend, have a good one
