DreamerHelen wrote: »Morning Everyone....
Well just to top off this really rotten Year I've had to break into my Emergency Fund...So I'm starting back at Zero....I am pretty gutted about this but I am going to draw a line under this Year, it's nearly over, and start next Year afresh and aim for a fiver each Week to put into my Emergency Fund...It's what I was aiming for from the beginning but unfortunately family events and other things took over....Sometimes real life can do that...
Anyway....I will aim for something new and exciting from next Year...I WILL keep on chasing those rainbows xXx
So here is to the Updates...Let's ALL keep on going...We CAN do this!!
misselvis - Please don't worry, I've had to do the same thing, like you said it's good that you had it there to use and didn't have to do something silly like get credit somewhere at huge interest...Start again, this Thread will never judge you for that xXx
sophieo16 - I've put your New Target on the Front Page...just below where your original Target was....You're already doing AMAZING...keep on going.... xXx
carbootcrazy - Don't worry, I know you will get there...You'll get nothing but encouragement from this Thread....We are all in the same boat...some can save fast, some can't....but we will all get there in the end... xXx

Hellooo everyone
I'm adding another £200 to the fund to keep it from harms way. I've already done all my Christmas shopping and now they have sales on?! Frustrating
Hope you're ok Helen, it's only natural to feel a little down given what your family has just been through. Keep your chin up, remember the good times to make you smile

Morning Everyone....
So this Year just gets worse....So yesterday morning my Grandma from Up North (my Dad's Mum) died....I feel like it's hit me like a ton of bricks....I'm not sure how much more I can take this Year....
I don't know when the Funeral will be....whether it will be before Christmas or in early January....I'm waiting for my Dad to let me know in the next day or two....
Anyway.....I'm kind of hoping it will be this Year as it means I can hopefully start the New Year with hopefully feeling more positive and hoping it will be a better Year next Year....
I'm sort of okay....Just feeling a bit shell-shocked to be honest....I can't quite believe that I've lost 2 of my Grandparents in the space of 6 weeks...
It will be a hell of a Journey Up North from London....I think I'm going to take the Overnight Coach up there so I don't have to Pay for a Hotel the night before...and then get a one-way Train back down to London as that will be quicker to get home....Either way it's not going to be pleasant but of course I would never miss my Grandma's Funeral....
So I just wanted to let you know what is going on with me right now....This Christmas will be very subdued I think....
So, just the one Update....
LittleMissDetermined - I've Updated the First Page...Can I just check that your Total is £1650? If not then please do let me know and I'll Update it again...You're doing AWESOME...Keep on going hun xXx0 -

Evening Everyone....
So the Funeral is next Friday...I'm going up by Coach on the Thursday night, getting there Friday morning early and then coming back by Train in the Afternoon and getting back mid-evening in London....
It's not going to be much fun but then again these things never are....but I will get through it and be there to support my Family....
I have my moments of disbelief that I'm attending two Funerals in the space of a month....and that I only have one Grandparent left....but I know I have to accept the reality and try to make sense of it all in the best way I know how to...
Anyway...At least the Funeral is before Christmas....albeit only two days before....
So I'm absolutely determined that next Year will be better....It will be...It will be....It will be....I shall make it so....
I plan on starting my Emergency Fund up again in January...so please bear with me starting from zero again...I will get there...We all will....
Here's to the Update....
Dobbibill - I've Updated the First Page....WOW, look at how AMAZING you are doing...you are nearly there!! Keep on going. Thank you so much for your amazing lovely words and for all your support since this Thread started....you're one in a million xXx0 -
Helen
So sorry to hear about your loss - hang in there. I always think old age comes to us all - and I guess because it was unexpected - it was quick - and that's a blessing. I know you have lost two people close to you, but you've gained two people watching over you... I like to think it's like that anyway...
Be kind to yourself... don't give your EF another thought... it's being put to good use by enabling you to stay afloat and do what you need to do...
2017 is waiting for you. A fresh year with new goals and achievements and successes waiting to happen... Make sure you give this year - and the people you are saying goodbye to, an awesome send off... Celebrate their lives.
Massive hugs - we are all here for you too x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

We will all be thinking of you next Friday Helen.....it will be a long hard day but at least you will be home the same evening and it will be before Christmas and the New Year...I know this was your preference.
I think abundant1972 has worded it perfectly. :A I can only echo what they said.
I'm sure there will be plenty of dreams to chase and rainbows to catch in 2017 so just keep plodding on through the rough times ready for better times in the New Year.
Almost forgot...I've also got another #2 update....
An additional £174.54 added so my new total is £7946.52 aka 91.34%.
I did it...I got over the 90% mark this year :j
Let's get this sig updated
