    Welcome dida80,

Welcome to the challenge, it's all about putting the funds there, there's no set timescale which makes it more achievable as it's ongoing for as long as it takes.

Well done to be paying down some debt, joining the challenges on here I find really keeps the motivation going

Patman99 will be along soon to give you a number.

    Good luck & welcome aboard

  • Hopefully, from Monday, I will be able to start again to build up my fund, not that I had a lot in it before my emergency, it certainly brought it home how important it is to have.

I will be looking to reclaim the trainfare as it is for a job. Not holding my breath, but at least I will have a valid reason to refuse to undertake such a trip in the future.

That's good to hear, kdalwayskint. After all, that's what this thread is for, to motivate and encourage us to build up a pot for just such emergencies. It's not really for long-term savings as such. I haven't much in my EF yet but feel a whole lot better knowing there's a small cushion there to help when needed.

    Have an emergency-free 2015, everyone:beer:
