Ome piece of luck, if the DWP won't refund my travel costs, the MoJ will.Never Knowingly Understood.

I use mobile banking, and with NW i have 2 accounts. A current, and a saver. I've decided to use the odd £'s and p's and transfer them into savings. That way I can finally start saving, and I don't missing little amounts.
So, I have £xx3.13p in my current account. I have transfered the £3.13 into my savings so I can FINALLY update my total! Not sure how I'm ever gonna raise £1000, but I'm aiming for little and often and hoping the pennies will turn into pounds and the pounds into £1000!
Wish me luck!

Aw Patman, not what you were hoping for but I'm sure something else is just around the corner. Sometimes if a door is ajar it stops another door opening fully as they clash with each other, so one door must be shut to allow the new door to swing freely.
Good news about travel costs though, at least you will not be out of pocket - very :money:
I'm sure I speak for many others on this thread when I say, we are all rooting for you so keep us updated.

Thanks all. Support is welcome.
Tbh I really didn't think I'd even make it as far as an assesment day for the Prison Officer role, so was not all that bothered about not getting past the medical. Mind you, if I'd been in the group that did the role play first and the medical second, I might have been a bit hacked-off.Never Knowingly Understood.

#44 checking in here.
The emergency fund is currently sitting at a pathetic £0 as I'm just waiting for payday on the 24th to add to it.
At the moment I'm just paying catch up on some overdue bills that arose from the car repairs in November. Hence the need for an emergency fund.
I'm hoping to add some to the emergency savings (hopefully between £50-£100) and then start added a bit to various saving pots - car repairs, birthday/Christmas, school uniform, childcare and summer activities. It may only be a couple of pounds towards them and maybe not all of them this month but it's better than nothing and it's better than leaving myself short when new school uniforms etc are needed.0 -
God January is hard! and my emergency fund is taking a hit.
car tax has increased so £145 out of emergency fund, little more than first expected, as well as a £25 parking ticket!.. aswell as a couple of other little bits.
The parking ticket I can't really grumble about, I realised before leaving work in the afternoon to go to a meeting in the city centre that id forgotten my purse and had no change at all on me. If i went home to get my purse id have been very late for the meeting and everywhere in the city centre is pay and display. i was only in the meeting for 20 mins too! most expensive 20 min parking ever.... but i didn't have a ticket so its fair.
Emergency fund back down to £357.56
At the moment I am not paying off debt owed to family, only adding to my emergency fund from my pay as I'm currently on a maternity contract and need to have enough to cover rent when my contract finishes unless anther job is lined up. Hopefully i should get something soon as i keep getting interviews.
hope everyone else is still adding to their fund.. and I'm counting the days till payday!Mortgage Feb 2023- £249,210 MFW 2023 #20: £524.05/£500 (104.81%)0 -
