Hello, can I join this too? I had a quick look at Dave Ramsey last night and the order of sorting money out seemed really very sensible as any emergencies that came up would be put onto credit cards rather than cash. So I've had a quick change of plan to paying off the highest interest card first (£236) then getting the emergency fund up and running then doing the 0% cards.
And I might actually be able to pay in cash this year!0 -

Hi all,
Wowsers there have been some impressive additions to emergency funds and even the little amounts mean that people are trying to get it together.
Have decided to just put a few pennies which was kind of left over on one of my accounts where every pence is accounted for so know this £3.83 will not be needed. I'm still only at £5 but I am hoping once January is over that I will be able to make a difference to this fund and add more to it and in bigger amounts.
My one worry is that when I have this amount in the pot will I use it to throw at things that I shouldn't? Dave Ramsey would say that this should be untouched except in an emergency and use other funds for debt. Just getting a bit impatient with the drive to be debt free. I do know that I will be able to manage it all by the end of the year but my impatience will drag me down. How do people cope with this bit?
Oh well - off to try and do some of my assignment that is just sitting there staring at me.... AGAIN. Why am I such a last minute girl?

Unexpected holiday pay from agency job last year just been paid! So this can cover vet bill £95 for very poorly cat and the remainder £60 can go into EF. Probably won't be able to increase it like this in future months but it is a super start. Although there have been times during past year when not working that money could have paid some bills/ bought food so although feels like a windfall I has been saved along the way.:)
