    Hello all

Just popped £49 in to savings to make it up to £50, so 5%!

Building it up steadily after raiding it for Christmas :)

I'm going to put 10% of my wages over when I get paid each month, plus all the odd numbers left in my account daily.

    Keep it up guys x

Hello I'd like to join please as I have no Emergency Fund at all right now and no way of paying for anything if need be. I would love to get to £1000 by the end of the year but I don't think I'll be able to manage it, however I will try :)

Hi TMD, welcome aboard! A lot can happen in a year, you could surprise yourself come this time next year with what you have achieved!
Patman will add you to the first post and give you a number when he checks in.
  • Happy new year to all of you!

My emergency fund is still standing at £100.00

Hopefully it will continue to rise as the year goes on.

    Welcom toomuchdebt.

Dreamerhelen, the Queen+ Adam Lambert concert was superb. My DS looked at getting tickets (his friend was there) but they started at £120 up.
Mind you, he is off to see them in Feb anyway.

He also informed me that there are now 2 sets of fans who go to the concerts. As well as 'Queenies', there are now 'Glamberts' (fans of Adam Lambert).

Ahhh, Hoipolloi, I hate not having anything spare to put in my EF. I put hardly anything in during December as I needed every penny to put towards Christmas, so I know how frustrating it is. But remember we are in this for the long haul, and it's better not to add to our debts when we have unexpected outgoings. Happy New Year to you!

Wise words indeed, and I thank you for them

    Happy new year everyone.

Bad news from me I have had to wipe out my emergency fund...l my poor guinea pig is unwell so I had to take him to the emergency vet ... £70 later he still isn't sorted and needs to see his usual vet tomorrow, I think my £120 emergency fund will be gone!!

Just goes to show you never know what is going to happen.

I will be starting again to get to the £1000.

Ooops....haven't logged on for a while. Had to dip into the emergency fund over Christmas as December was a very quiet month in work so now have £246.32 left. It did mean, though, that I didn't touch a single credit card. I'm not sure which christmas I was last able to say that so I'm pleased!
