Hi happybunny, it's never to late to join! Patman will be along to welcome you aboard officially when he checks in next.
I think we have all realised the importance of having an EF on here, some of us have already had to dip into them, but that's OK because that's what it's there for at the end of the day! I've been fortunate as I have a separate EF for the car, which I had to take £104 out of at the beginning of the month, when the handbrake went! Don't know what we would have done otherwise. Well, actually that's not true; I know exactly what would have happened. It would have been chucked on the CC
I'm almost a quarter of the way there! Want to reach that milestone by the end of January at the latest!
How is everyone else doing? Has anyone heard from Dreamer Helen, haven't seen her in here for a while now...0 -
I'm here Eyebright
Always reading but can't start putting anything into my Emergency Fund until January starts....after that I would like to be able to put £15 per week away...depending on how my Finances go....
Having some health problems at the moment....am being investigated by the Hospital...but I will get there....
Thanks for thinking of me hun....hope you are well too xXx0 -
As Eyebright said, I'll be along to welcome you and as I'm waiting for 'Star Trek Online' to download a 10Gb patch, what better time to pop over here and say 'welcome on board'.
This isn't a race, but a place were people can motivate each other to help them reach their target.
If you have waded through the whole 23 pages, you will have noticed that a few of us have had to dip into their EFs already. But then that's the idea of having an EF. It's there for when an emergency crops-up, be-it a broken oven or finding ones self out of a job.Never Knowingly Understood.

Yay for being paid more than expected! That rocks! I got paid on the 23rd of December so that's it for me now until 23rd of January  January always feels like such a long month. Hopefully if there's anything left at the end I will be able to top up my EF with a bit more...
So tired today. OH went out with his friend who is staying with us for new year. They weren't late back or anything but both were snoring all night...so I've had about 2 hours kip and I know I've got a super busy day ahead of me at work...think OH wants to "do" new year at ours too tonight, just couple of friends and family, but last 2 years he's done this they have all still been up and blasting music at 5am  I hate it, and I've decided if that's what he's doing again this year then I'm going to his parents for the night!0 -
Oh Dear Eyebright...I can sympathise with partners who snore...don't have one at the moment but I think that every single Partner I've had has snored...and I'm a REALLY light sleeper so it drives me mad!! LoL....
Hmmm....It might be a good idea to go to the Parents house tonight if you don't want to still be awake at 5am....I'm planning on having a VERY chilled out Evening tonight.....I tend to work a bit and then take some time to reflect over the past Year, what I have achieved and what hasn't worked so well....and then put it to bed for the Year and start the New Year afresh....with positive thoughts and positive energy....It might sound dull but I really love it....
I consider myself VERY lucky in that I have several Jobs and three of them pay every Week....so I'm VERY VERY lucky that I don't have to wait long for my next Payday....So I next get paid from my other Job on Friday....which is great....and I'm doing really well with Work at the moment so I'm very pleased with that...
Hope your day isn't too hectic hun....take care of yourself and "see" you soon xXx0 -
Please can I join?
My main focus is paying off my debt but I'd feel better having an emergency fund so will add a few pence here and there when I can. Right, I'm off to search the house for spare change to start...2020 Extra income £348.14

Didn't expect to be back with another update but I have just had a tidy up of a few things so my final update for 2014 is.......
#45 £200 + £100 = £300 total
Also well done to everyone who has made a start on their EF, even if it's only getting the account ready to be funded in 2015, it's all focus towards an end result.
Big thank you for patman99 for getting us all motivated and focused to do this challenge and Happy New Year to everyone on the forum.
