The £1,000 emergency fund challenge.

I love this group and the motivation it gives me to save for my EF. I now have a fantastic £1,750 saved for EF. I am going to strive to get £2k. I know that may sound a lot, but as a homeowner, if something major goes wrong that is not covered by house insurance, e.g. boiler, I feel we will be better placed to face the problem.
So although the group title is £1k emergency fund challenge, can I still be a member if I aim for £2k ????DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Member #200 is ANGELICIOUS.
Welcome to the challenge and good luck.
Thought I might be having to clear my EF to replace ou washer/dryer as our son knocked on the bedroom door at 1 this morning to tell us that it was making a strange noise. MrsP. had a look and said the drum was not turning.
Got in tonight, opened the door and gave the drum a spinn and it appeared to be free so am now doing a test wash and all seams to be working well.
Never Knowingly Understood.

Hope that test wash went okay. If it was anythink like when my son uses our washing machine it was probably the rubbish left in the pockets tumbling round the drum and then getting stuck between the drum and the door seal (or something like that). Been there many timesDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
Another one here seconding January's hopes that the test wash went OK for you, patman:T
When my washing machine died the drum failed to turn at all, except maybe a fraction by hand, never as much as a quarter of the way round. It was making some very strange noises which couldn't have been anything trapped between the seal. I'm the only one who ever does any washing and check pockets etc very carefully in case OH has left any money in his;)0
