I have no idea why they have so many programs on washing machines. My spouse only ever uses the 1. So did my mum.

Well, I certainly don't use all the programmes and never did even on my old machine which had less of them. But I certainly need more than 1! Plus, this machine has a superfast facility which only takes 20 minutes and the clothes look cleaner than they did on a whole long cycle in the old machine:j

It's the variety of spin speeds that I'm so chuffed with though. The fastest spin (so megafast but quiet with it:j) gets rid of so much water that even when I have to dry them in the tumbler in winter it takes a fraction of the time and electricity. Plus, there are lots of slower spin-speeds including a 400rpm one which means synthetics come out without any creasing even if I can't take them out straight away.

    Hi PW,

I'm fairly a newbie and too have no savings...

You could post an SOA statement of affairs showing all your income vs outgoings and MSE forumites will come up with suggestions on where you could potentially save money...

People also post really good suggestions on here and also I've found the Debt Free Wannabe board to be extremely helpful.

Your more than welcome to have a look at my diary too 'penny to penny...brick to brick' as I post any MSE money saving tips I've used, or where I've managed to make any savings.

Stick with MSE and before you know it you'll have lots of savings :T:T:T

    welcome PW,

Patman will be along shortly to give you a number.
    Any tips for a newbie?!

    * Account for your savings on pay day - don't wait to see how much is left at the end of the week/month etc. add it into your budget, even if you start off at £5 pcm
    * Add little amounts from rounding off eg £50.34 in the current account [round off the 34p, pop that in your EF]
    * Also anything you can sell on eb@y, fb selling pages, car boot sales, pop that in the EF too.
    * If you need to renew any insurances or purchase something, check if there's cashback available on TCB/Qu1dco, even 1% all adds a little more to that fund.

You'd be surprised how little amounts soon add up.

Welcome aboard and all the best

    Dobbi
