Washing machine works (sort off). When I turned it off, some of the lights remained on. This indicates an issue with the controller board.
Luckily, I have a workmate who's son repairs and installs domestic appliances and if I give him the model number, he will ask his son if he can get hold of the relevant controller for me. I will also give hime the make/model of my son's washing maching as that also has a controller fault.Never Knowingly Understood.

#196 popping in with an update. Another £40 added so that brings my emergency fund total to £460 now. Getting there slowly but surely.
The annoying thing is that I had saved £1000 early this year as an emergency fund but then DH and I decided to use it for new kitchen chairs and an extra freezer plus a few other bits (none of which were emergencies!) And it dwindled massivelyWon't be doing that again!

I hope you're all enjoying the sunshine:j
I did a car boot sale this morning and made £88.20 which I was pleased with considering I'm pretty much down to the dregs of anything saleable I have. As the car is still partly full I might bite the bullet and do another one tomorrow. That's if I can rake together anything else that will draw the buyers:rotfl:
Won't add it to EF yet, may need to use some as ready cash for groceries:o but will be back on here early next week with an update.0 -
Hi carbootcrazy,
Well done on your carbootcrazy sales...I put a post out on my thread 'penny by penny...brick by brick' asking if anyone had any tips about upcycling/reselling things...
Have you ever given that a go - selling on anything you've seen as a bargain at carboots etc.
Be interested to know what you think.

Well, looks like I will not only need a new main PCB for the washing machine, but the pump is making a right old racket.
Tomorrow's job is to swap my washer/dryer out and replace it with mum's washing machine. I can then take the washer/dryer apart in my mums garage and get the relevent part numbers of the bits I need to replace. Much cheaper than a new machine.
Anyway, in order to swap the machines over, I had to clear a load of old mail and in amongst it was a cheque from CPP from 2014. I have emailed them to see if they will still honour it, if not, will they send a new one.Never Knowingly Understood.
