Phooey :( Car failed its M.O.T. so I'm waiting to see how much of the EF will be required to sort it. I'm hoping less than £150 but we'll see...

Hi, Ive just found this challenge and would love to join.
We are using many of Dave Ramsay's methods to become debt free including using cash envelopes but I find saving an emergency fund really difficult.
Hopefully this challenge will really help. off to read some back pages and get some inspiration :)
Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.

And so the list grows, with member #199 joining us.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

    3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)

  • Wow! Nearly at the magic 200 member mark:j. Just shows what a brilliant thread this is, patman:beer:

Nothing to add as such (yet;)) but will be getting a refund from Specsavers when I bite the bullet and go in there on Monday. I opted for varifocals for the first time this year and despite trying them for a couple of months I really can't get on with them:o. Their Ts and Cs say that they'll swap varifocals for single vision lenses with no quibbling. As they will be cheaper I assume they'll repay the difference.

Anything I get back will be going straight into my EF. It would be amazing if I could reach £1000 by the end of the year:j
  • Ive managed to add another £25 to EF which now stands at

    £50.
  • Wow that font and size is big !!!:rotfl:

I think you're right about the significant member number_party_:dance:.. Patman was worried that we'd even hit 50 when he started the thread.
