Well done on the savings mrs m:T.
Wise move on cancelling the pet insurance (I think/hope;)) as I've done the same. Was fed up of paying premiums only to find they didn't pay out for whatever it was I was claiming for, the big excess even when they did pay etc etc:mad:. Mine was just for the one cat and under £16 a month but it was still a lot considering what I got back for it. Mine goes in my general £1000 EF pot as vet fees have constituted most of my emergency spends this past year anyway. I already budget for regular run of the mill treatments like injections, worm and flea treatments and the like in a general pot.0 -
Sorry to hear about your in-laws' illnesses, patman. Must have been a stressful time for all concerned.
Congratulations on the good news with your job. Very well-deserved:beer:0 -

Exactly, I was paying £75 a month for 3 dogs, last year one of the pooches needed an emergency op but guess what I wasn't covered....so £2300 later I read the 'small print' on the policies and came to the same conclusions as you.
My aim is to not use the EF for routine injections etc. but save for when something major and unexpected happens and if we are fortunate enough that nothing else happens, then I am £2000 better off.Well Behaved women seldom make history

We have however got the end of January with xmas '15 paid for :T this usually takes until at least the end of March with a balance on catalogue as well.
So I am starting again, again :rotfl:NST#14/20 -

Nice one. Another member reaches £1,000.
CBC, have read your post on DH's thread about your washing machine and cooker both packing-in. This is just what the fund is for.
Anyway, sad news in the Patman house this week as my M-in-L died today. This means I am going to need to save for a black suit and white shirt for the funeral.Never Knowingly Understood.
