I've checked the cost of paying the house ins d/debit and it's only an extra £12 over the year - and it's still £120 cheaper than the old ins would've been paid d/debit :T so I'm reasonably happy and think I'm going to revert to that plan!
Hey rising from the ashes,
Is that price checking TCB or Qu1dco - if not it may be worth doing to see if it will save you any more.

Oh yes, forgot that£20 cashback will be winging my way at some point:)
(although if it's anything like the cashback I was due for the pets insurance, I'll be waiting a while - it got to 7 months (and several chasers) and eventually Quidco paid it and said they'd claim it from the insurer)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

#62 Update:
I have hit the £1000 target of the thread but am on DR's Baby Step 3, which is the full Emergency Fund of three to six months expenses. So I have a little way to go yet to fully fund my Emergency Fund.
Instead of expenses, I am going for three months income as my EF total.Debt free 24/03/2015./ On Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 3./Full Emergency Fund 2500/6000./ Got mortgage on the 28/08/15./ 2015 MFW #117 1242.89/20000 -
Congratulations on reaching your challenge target so quickly, Stereochild:T:T
Good Luck with the rest of DR's Baby Steps:beer:.0 -
Thanx carbootcrazy! Paying off all my debt released my income back to me which has helped to pay off my mini EF.
You are doing amazingly with your own debt clearance carbootcrazy!!Debt free 24/03/2015./ On Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 3./Full Emergency Fund 2500/6000./ Got mortgage on the 28/08/15./ 2015 MFW #117 1242.89/20000 -

Thanks, but it's a constant battle to even get slightly ahead with saving anything. Every time I manage to build up a small EF I have to plunder it (usually for car repairs:mad:). My days of starting to build up enough to cover 3 months' expenses are a very long way off:(0 -
Congratulations Sterochild :j huge achievement
Carboot - I'll be here for the long haul ..... although DF, my budget is tight so can only put small bits away
My big plus is I don't have any car repair / maintenance costs and shouldn't for quite a while (apart from tyres, windscreen wipers etc) which makes a huge differenceGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
