I've had to use my EF before i have even reached £50
It was my own stuipid fault that I had to dip in to so back to square one.
Good luck everyone0 -
I did too, but ..... but...... nothing went on my cc as it would have done before. I take comfort that the EF can be rebuilt without someone else getting the interest!0

That is what having an EF is all about. The cash is available, so reduces the need for credit.
CBC, our cattle market was moved 3 times over it's lifetime and is now in the hands of a large local auctioneers, so it's future is very secure.
Our local Tories ran with the dtarpline 'Getting Colchester moving'. Pity their County Council counterparts are hell-bent on turning our town into a giant carpark in order to 'persuade' people to come and shop in Chelmsford.
Anyway, one final push Trixxibelle and you will be there.Never Knowingly Understood.

I'd love to join this challenge. I've just over £400 in savings but find it hard to push beyond £500 (savings been up and down over past year). I heard recently that to 'protect' you in big emergencies like job loss/redundancy you should save equivalent of 3 months' salary but the that seems way too unattainable for me right now with CC and loan to clear. Think this challenge is exactly what I need to keep me on track and finally get over the £500 and hopefully up to £1000.LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

It's been I while since I popped in, but great to see everyone doing so well.
I had some unexpected income generated from the sale of something that's never thought would go... All the proceeds have been added to the EF ( just hope they can stay there with a car service looming).
EF now : £569.75 (56.9%)
So happy to be past the half way mark :j:T:j#24 - £1000 Challenge - £397.24 (39.72%) / £10000 -
Well done to everyone who has added to their EF lately:T. It doesn't matter whether its a lot or a bit, every penny counts and is one step nearer to reaching your total.
Slight confession from me today that I have been gambling:o. Before I ask for a good slap I'll explain that I only used £6 odd that I had forgotten about in an online bookmaker's account. I thought I'd withdrawn all the oddments of money still in any of them when I was trawling through trying to find where I could take advantage of 'free' offers and cashback months ago. Only logged into this one on Thursday because I received an email about an offer which turned out to need a deposit so no use to me. Being able to afford to gamble nowadays is impossible, sadly.:( Can't understand how this one slipped through the net but it was great to find some money still there in my account,
Long story short, I blew the lot on a Conservative majority at the Election (brilliant odds of 10 to 1 on Thursday evening, might have been better earlier on:() and won a total of £67.25:j. Thought it worth a gamble as I was quietly confident of the outcome (and not just in hindsight:rotfl:). Made staying up all night watching the election results come in more interesting than it usually is.
The money is now added to my EF and gambling account has been closed!0 -
Thanks for the encouragement it is appreciated xx

Can I join please? All my remaining debt is on 0% so I don't feel bad about starting to save some cash. I've been listening to Dave Ramsey's podcasts for a while and thinking that an emergency fund would be a good idea.
