Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled!

Just wanted to post to maybe encourage someone else to stand up to their charge. It's a boring post but I had outstayed the free parking time, there was clear signage of the time allowed, I did not have a receipt for shopping that day and, generally speaking, I am a wimp;it would have been very easy to just pay up but the store have succeeded in getting the charge cancelled on my behalf. It was this site that gave me the confidence to hold my ground just a little more than would have been natural for me - and that is all it took.
G24 sent me a postal PCN for £100 because may car was parked 33 minutes longer than the allowed 120 minutes at Staples in High Wycombe.
I would have paid up, except I genuinely thought the signs allowed me 3 hours. I googled in case it had changed recently and there were lots of complaints about. None like mine, but I did find this amazing forum. I was so sure I was right that I went back to the store to check. Clear signage saying 120 mins. I went in and asked a checkout girl if it had changed recently, but she said she thought it had always been 120 mins - would I like to speak to a manager. I said yes (still convinced the signs must have been changed). However he confirmed it had always been 120 minutes Hmmmm, so even with a maths degree it seems I computed 120 mins as 3 hours? duh!; so I had clearly made a mistake. He hesitated as if to say he could do something and asked if I had a receipt for shopping at the time. Thing is I didn't. I had been looking at chairs but didn't purchase them that day. Nothing he could do then he said. However I had an email confirming that I did buy Staples chairs online, two days later and said if he were to check CCTV he could watch me sitting on all the chairs trying them out!!! With the knowledge from this site that stores can get these things cancelled I hung on, protesting my genuine mistake and the punitive nature of the charge. To my amazement he took the details and emailed G24 to get it cancelled. Several days later, and just before the charge discount period would run out, I called the store again to see if they had heard anything. The same guy called back and said he had contacted G24 a second time and that the charge was now cancelled. I double checked the G24 'payyourcharge' site and sure enough it now said the details didn't exist. This morning I received a letter from G24 confirming the charge has been waived.
Moral of this rather boring story - be brave.

Homebase cancelled a G24 PCN when a driver had left the car in the hands of a car-wash employee who not only re-parked the car but told them it was OK to come back later (no time limit imposed):

The OP would otherwise have made efforts to name the car-wash employee as the person who parked!

ParkingEye PCN cancelled by Welcome Break:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5420163
This was after he'd lost at POPLA.
OP emailed the services Facility/Finance Manager and asked them to cancel the PCN and offered the £15 tariff that would have been due had the driver been able to see the signs and learn of the UNKNOWN fee for staying over two hours.
Welcome Break contact emails, per named site, are VERY easy to Google. They are all out there waiting for a complaint to fly in about PE! If refused, ask for the Finance Manager to step in and make a £15 offer.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

In all cases where there is an underpayment that payment should be offered on initial receipt of the PCN . As hardly any signage stipulates when parking tariffs must be paid if this is done there is no breach of contract . This is definitely the case in ANPR car parks where there is no obligation to display a ticket .0
