Pay & Display Ticket and Board Show Different Things

I have received a parking ticket for overstaying at a private car park by 30 minutes. The car park has always operated a 1.5 hours for £1 charge with restrictions ending at 6 pm. Sometime in the past year this has changed to 2.5 hours for £1 with restrictions ending at 8 pm. I parked at 16.39 and my ticket showed an expiry of 18.00. The time the restrictions have always (in the past) ended, I did not realise the board said differently.
Is this grounds to challenge the ticket?
This car park has operated using the 6pm cut off for at least five years, maybe more. They still don't charge if you arrive after 6pm (like they always haven't) so there was nothing to indicate the rules had changed unless you read the board fully. Who reads the board in a car park they always use every time they go in there? There has been no signage to draw attention to the fact the rules for the car park have changed.
For information it's a Morrisons car park and the charge is from Parking Eye.

Get a pic of the board as it is this that forms the contract. If there was something different on the ticket, then you can argue the contract is voidable due to misrepresentation as you relied on the ticket and the times on it.

They say over parked by 30 mins
What time did you leave?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Do this as well as sending the appeal template shown in the NEWBIES thread, not saying who was driving (read the sticky).

Thanks for the quick responses.
Yes the car park has always shown an expiry time of 18.00 on the ticket if that is sooner than the period you paid for as that was when parking restrictions ended. Which is why I didn't realise the restrictions now ended 2 hours later, as the ticket should have shown an expiry of 19.12.
The further issue is that the letter arrived two weeks since we parked there I don't have any receipts or the ticket for evidence anymore. I went to buy a ticket yesterday at the same machine for evidence and all the machines are currently out of action.
I'll try contacting Morrisons in the first instance, but have been told their response to others in this situation has been 'it's nothing to do with us, deal with Parking Eye'
For further confusion although the car park is pay and display it appears they are using ANPR for entry and exit times. So the time on the ticket (which led to my confusion) is not the source of their ticket.
It's almost like it's been set up to catch long-using, regular customers as they are the ones that won't realise there's been a change!!0 -

This is who you contact with a severe complaint with the question
" do you want me and friends to stop shopping with you ?
If you do want us to shop with you, please arrange for this ticket to be cancelled"
You need proof of receipts or CC statements

You have got it in one. It's a scam to generate money for parking lie.
The person you spoke to at Morrison's is lying. They are the principal and parking ye are their sub-contractors. That's why you should contact Morrisons' CEO as advised as well as sending the BPA appeal in blue from the NEWBIES thread. Tell the CEO in no uncertain terms that you will become an ex-customer if this ticket is not cancelled.
Social media and local news are also available to warn other people about this disgraceful behaviour.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
The code of practice states they should make changes apparent with extra signs and consider not charging for breaches. Ask Morrisons if this happened. Whats the point of a CoP if the biggest operator ignores it.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0

Just sent them an email at 11.19. Had a phone call at 11.22 to say they are going to look into it and clarifying what they need from me to do that.
I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks for all your helpful advice.0 -
