As I said, you can cancel on the grounds given if you formally reject the increase within the given timescale. Once that period has elapsed, you are deemed to have accepted the increase, regardless of how much it is.
However trying to get this through to TT CS may be an uphill struggle, so put it in writing by RD.
Thanks for that.
As I said I only found out about the proposed increase when I spoke to them on Friday so I should be within any timescale.0 -
The timescale will begin from when you are informed by them in writing/email.No free lunch, and no free laptop

I have just left aol after being a customer for 6 years. I too was on an unlimited plan and my pricing had increased in a similar way to the op's. I chose to go with plusnet on their 60gb plan. All I can say is that it has transformed my Internet connection. With aol I couldn't stream anything at anytime, despite allegedly getting a 5mb connection. Now with plusnet I can stream anytime I like
. The only thing is keeping an eye on the data that I am using and that upload is also part of your 60gb.

Who you going with then Mike?
Received my MAC today less than 24 hours after requesting it so well pleased, if it wasn't for the price increase I would have stayed with AOL as its worked well for me :j0 -
I have eventually received the following from aol;
I can confirm that you will not be charged with any cancellation fee once you cancelled your account due to the upcoming price increase.
Now to look from a new provider!!0 -
Yep same as all of you, been with AOL since 1998, always happy until this price increase, called them hoping for a retention offer, all they would do is £5 off for 3 months then will be charged at £25 after that. Asked for my MAC code which arrived the next day. As I live off the beaten track most deals are not on offer to me, struggling to find another provider that is cheaper. I am with TT for line and calls, both I am not in contract with so ok to leave, since seaching Plusnet, Sky etc, I can save a little but not as much as I was hoping for.
Oh well, I'll keep in searching.

Any Aol users decided who the are switching to yet?

Hi Guys
Bit long but I've included what I'll save from this switch at the bottom.
I've been with AOL since 1998 and paying £20.00 month. My service has been crap for the last few years and when I've had any problems they have been a nightmare to sort.
I've been too lazy to change (I'm not in contract). On Tues 24th decided to phone them for my MAC code (they wanted to try and keep me but I wasn't interested in any offers).
Got MAC code via email on Wed and letter yesterday.
I'm already with BT for phone. I picked them as well because of the number of wifi hotspots and they do say that they have many international hotspots too.
1.Went into BT website via Candis/Quidco site
2. Selected package with free calls anytime for 12 months £129 up front line rental (£10.75 month) and broadband for £13.00 month on a 12 month contract.
3. Getting hub and broadband set up on Wed 2nd all confirmed within 30 minutes via email of me taking the package.
BT give £25 Sainsburys Voucher
Candis/Quidco £20 cashback
My BT line rental was £17.50 month - now saving £6.75
AOL monthly was £20.01 - now saving £7.01
Total Yearly savings - £171.87 + £45 = £216.87 and this doesn't iclude the calls I would make over the year with BT (sorry couldn't be bothered to drag out my last years bills).
Free calls for the year mean I can now reduce my mobile package so I will save money there too.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Debs
Very good to know. I have not done anything about switching yet but am seriously considering BT myself.

Why are AOL putting prices up for some members and then giving deals to others?
