    Ok it is done.

Switching to BT internet on 11th May £13 per month + one off £129 for phone with 12 months free calls. 12month contract.

    That will do nicely.

Over 10 years with AOL and they have lost my custom!

Good Luck with the changeover, hope it goes as well as mine.

Thanks Debs, I must admit though that I am a little nervous at changing in case it all goes wrong!

Did you set it up using the BT hub or use your existing router?
  • AOL the joke on us the few who stayed with them - they got greedy, got blassay, the people who answer their calls are rude and very unhelpful, they wanted more, lost more, cut corners, hired cheap rude labour and don't give us what we pay for. They are going out of my life and unlike some who have tried to cancel and still had money taken out of their bank accounts - or them trying to say "it never was cancelled" and looking for "debts" that never were - I'm covering all corners - if you want to cancel make sure you cover your back because it seems they are better at swindling people than providing an internet service.

I too have been a loyal customer of aOL since 1998 and up till now have been pleased with the service and pricing but the latest is a joke. Having tried to speak with at least 4 people from AOL I decided to write to the Chairman and AOL. I have already submitted a report to BBC Watchdog.
