    Your welcome Nilrem.

I't won't suit everyone but it was an easy option for me as I'm with them already and have never had any problems with them.

I just wish I had done it sooner!

I suspect that TT are trying to shed the old non-LLU accounts, which are far less profitable. Anyone on a non-LLU connection is being hit with a big price hike.

I joined BT yesterday-£129 for line rental for the year.
Unlimited calls, hub,and broadband for £9.90 per month (VIP offer). This is a 18 month contract.
I was getting my calls through aol, so was getting charged by BT for not using them for 2 calls a month.
Overall I'm saving £10 per month for broadband, my BT line rental is cheaper, and I will not be charged for not using BT.
Should be up and running on 14th May.

I am also one of the unlucky ones who has recieved this price increase email. After reading it i phoned them straight away. I have been an aol member for 10+ years and know i am in another 18 month contract, so my phone call was mostly to ask how long i have left in my contract. The lady told me that my contract runs out in December, but, because of the price increase i have 30 days from the date of the email to cancel without any charges. I immediately asked them for my MAC code (Which they said would arrive by email within 5 working days) and i started hunting for a new deal. I found a better deal with BT and signed up straight away, my MAC code arrived today after just 24 hours which shocked me! Thought i would have to phone back after 5 days, didn't hold much hope out at recieving it! Anyway, i'm a little worried now, just incase i do get charged for cancelling early as i have nothing in writing. Do i phone them to tell them i want to cancel or do BT sort it all out? First time i've ever changed provider!

I was concerned that I may get charged for leaving early so I ensured that I got an email from aol confirming there would be no charge.
After signing up to BT I've had 2 emails from aol ststing that my phone calls are being transfered to another provider.
My new BT broadband should go live on 14th May so will see what happens then!

I phoned AOL this morning and asked for a confirmation email to say that i will not be charged for switching and was told they cannot send me an email saying that, it should state that in the email that was sent informing me of the price increase, i've checked and it doesn't say anything! The man on the phone said that he is putting a note on my account to state that no charges will be payable and gave me his name. Here's hoping! My new BT internet will be up and running on the 8th May

I pay £18.90 (at the moment) on 18 months but had 6 free, Have upto 8MP speeds, Line rental, Free calls 24/7, Free caller display & 1571. My tip is do your research on other companys see what they are offering, Then ring up saying you have been offered this add extra to it, Say you realy want to stay with AOL but you income has gone down and your looking for the best deal. I have been with AOL for about 10 years. I remember paying £34.99 for 1MB when BB first was out and that did not inculde anything else.
I had that for 2MB then 8 when adsl max hit the exchange, I got free access to AOL dial up that was flying in at around 2MB from ANY dial up connection, when my modem went faulty I used dial up :D

Probably a daft question but what number does one ring to get a MAC from AOL or is it possible to request a MAC via email?
