Disk Fragmenting, Anti virus scanning, windows updating by default, other systems used by people in the same property and finally p-poor isp providers, each of them or all of them in conjunction, can affect browsing experience. Also if we have set the internet options to clear cookies more ofetn, the pages would take an extra moment to load. For me, I think my problem is that I do not have java on ie8 and I have an outdated flash on ie9 which is why it sturggles to load the widgets. I'm on ie8 and experience problems, but not on mse, when I use sites that use images, like shopping at retailers' sites. I agree with fermi, it might be better to post all details that webby has asked, if we want them to clone/create a carbon copy of the problem, to fix alleged issues.0

Aaargh, are you fiddling today team?
Site hung for even longer when loading and hung for ages after I'd input my user name and password and clicked submit.
As for my details, I've listed them previously, not going to bother again tbh.
But for the record I will state again I have several pc's with several operating systems and one has just had a fresh format/re-install and has nothing on it.
THIS site causes me issues on all.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Tested Vista on and off, and no sign of any problem.
So on several PCs with several different operating systems.
THIS site causes problems with NONE of them.
Odd.....

I completely understand the dilemma fermi.
Thing is though, it's all very well saying they can't replicate the problems but that doesn't change the fact the end users are still having them.
Is it really so important to keep the stretchy format in the meantime, despite all the problems people are reporting? It seems that's just the way it's going to be and we just need to put up with it if we want to visit MSE.
Edit: I should add, this site is important to me. I'm not moaning just for the sake of it, I'm frustrated and sad that it just doesn't work well like it used to before it was upgraded. It's not enough to make me want to leave, but it really is frustrating at times.Herman - MP for all!0 -
this thread has many systems already listed by others having the problems
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3866149
i have tried
Laptop
IE 8 and Chrome
Vista
AVG anti virus
Wired 8mg Virgin broadband
Laptop
IE9 and Chrome
Windows 7 (brand new clean install)
No anti virus
Wifi 8mg Virgin broadband
also
brand new out of the box
Windows 7 laptop
IE9
no virus/maleware protection
first time on internet, conected via wifi to virgin 20mg cable
same problem with all systems, locks up for 10 to 15 secs on first visit after switch on, slow between pages.
took me nearly 25 mins to post 3 pictures last night.
I've tried most of the above with no problems whatsoever. I'm using the old style fixed width layout - are you using this or the stretchy one ?
Haven you tried logging out, clearing cookies etc and using MSE without being logged in, or logged in with a different account ?0
