Same problem in Opera - happens when I log into the site everyday, seems to give Opera a heart attack, which in turn freezes W7 for a few seconds! No problem in Firefox.

    Ok today though!
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

I'm trying out a new browser (Rockmelt) and I'm having far less problems than I ever had with IE, FF and Chrome.

Most web browsers are based on one of three browser engines: Trident (used by IE), Gecko (used by Firefox) or WebKit (used by Chrome (and Safari)). There's also Opera's Presto, but I don't think any other browsers (are able to) use it.

According to RockMelt's Wikipedia page it uses WebKit and a JavaScript engine from Google. So, it's probably little more than Chrome wearing different clothes.

I've not encountered the problems mentioned here. Having said that, each page spat out by the forum seems to be quite large, containing over 40,000 characters, and is riddled with errors (as are most pages on the InterWeb), so it's hardly surprising some configurations struggle. :)

Actually mine seems to be getting worse, I didn;t think my PC was going to unblock this morning when I logged in here (but then I am an impatient type of person)

  • For the past few weeks my pc's been freezing on first visit too (FF)
but today i had no problems and got straight in...could the glitch now be sorted??

I'd like to take the above back- today was the worst yet and took ages. Don't know what happened yesterday, but things are back to (not) normal
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
  • I am having the same problem as well particularly on my laptop.

It never happened to me... and i use Chrome too... strange.
Maybe it is because your computer is with some kind of virus or somethings like that.

I've checked, and for Malware too, can't find anything. I don't run lots of other stuff at home either (where it happens), just a browser and an IM programme. And before anyone asks, this is the dodgiest website I ever visit. :rotfl:
