Does anyone else's PC hang on these forums?

Everyone can post their computer specs and browser/internet connection etc but i think the one thing we all have in common is that the problem started a month or two ago when there was a forum update.
This forum used to work fine for me until the update and i havent changed anything on my PC.

Just happened again to me (first access of the day). The message at the bottom of the Firefox screen was something like "Waiting for images.moneysavingexpert.com". Most times when it hangs the message mentions that or "images2.monesavingexpert.com".

damm this site is slow now, im on a brand fire new laptop as well. Internet explorer. This upgrade you did... good is it?

Aaaaaarrrrrgh....

this is driving me nuts, I can't get anything done on here this morning.

It is damn near unusable, please please please can somebody do something about it before I am forced to call it quits!

It's got worse since the Skimlinks thing went live. Logging in takes forever now.

Are MSE towers aware of the problems or are they just ignoring us and hoping we will all go away?

For those having trouble try blocking ping.chartbeat.net temporarily to see if that helps. Chartbeat is the only, very slightly, unusual thing loaded by mse. Everything else: google analytics, yahoo javascript libraries and an awful lot of images shouldn't be causing systems to lock up.

I would like to ask the web admin/designer(s) why they're hitting their servers with so many unneeded http requests? Modern sites should be using CSS spriting (example for amazon.co.uk) to lower the server load and quicken response times.
