    It is a bit slower.

But my biggest problem is that when I open the forum site, the whole computer hangs for about 10-20 seconds. Very annoying!!!

    I am using IE 9.08112 (I think) on a Windows 7 machine.

    Please fix!

To the OP: it still carries the same content, only it doesn't take up the whole width of the screen. It has been shrunk to the middle two thirds of the screen.

Oh yes, I get that too.

My screen is set to 1074 x 768 so that's probably why I see no difference at all.

I have had no problem with any other site but this has been slow here for days now, sometimes hangs and takes ages to open pages, it appears to have happened since they started making changes to the site.

I have been suffering from the MSE lag for a couple of months now but this last few days it has been even worse than before with every page 'hanging' for about 5 seconds longer while something loads.
When I go to the main forum index (particularly when using the back button) it sits at the top of the page for the lag before jumping to wherever I was before.
I have also noticed that when opening a post on a thread that people have been using a lot of smillies the lag stops me doing anything for a while until they are moving but if I open the seperate page of smillies to add one to a post, it opens straight away.

I dont want to switch browsers, IE works well for me on every other site that I go to and is my browser of choice.
MSE towers has told me that it is my browser's security that is the problem but as this is the only site that I have this problem, I doubt their word.

Ditto. It makes me incredibly frustrated.

I downloaded Chrome and it's a bit better, not as good as it used to be but much more usable.

I just use IE for everything else and Chrome for here.

As well as the page loading slowness, my netbook fan starts whirring within minutes of me visiting now. I can happily go on any other website for even longer and it doesn't start. The only time apart from MSE is starts up is if i've been watching i Player for awhile.

I am also on ie (8) and sick of these problems, been having them months and still no word from MSE.

I agree MSE has become very very slow in IE7 recently.

Ebay which I consider one of heaviest load sites, is ok.
