I hope someone in MSE has seen this thread, as there is a long delay loading forum pages in IE7 which is unusual as MSE is normally good.

I'm not having problem on other websites like ebay.

I've practically given up using MSE - I no longer browse, just look at specific threads.

It is too slow to load, then too slow to load each page even after that

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not downloading a new browser when I am happy with my old one, and when the MSE forum team can't bother to address the issues.

I am not a techie but there is obviously a compatibility issue for ie and this needs to be sorted out by MSE.

I use Chrome, but it still 'hangs' "waiting for images.moneysavingexpert.com" for around 20 seconds when I visit the site for the first time during a session on the computer.

    Fully agree and likewise here.

I'm using IE9 and also IE8 on laptop ...both have same problems hanging and frustrating to the point where it's not worth the wait as I've got other things to do.

Again as others have said I don't have the problem with other sites and whilst I've tried Chrome and Firefox with marginal improvement I'm not going to keep changing browsers just to look at MSE.

Browsing the site up to a few months ago used to be a pleasure ...however these days it's just far too frustrating and a lot of the pleasure is gone
It's not just about the money
  • I'm using firefox, and my whole laptop freezes up for approx 5 mins when I load the homepage. Very frustrating!

Earlier on I needed to shut all my browser windows to do something else and the last one I closed was the MSE one, I did a quick check on my subscribed threads before closing and I actually closed the window before the page had fully loaded,
Imagine my surprise when a new browser window opened of its own accord with MSE showing my list of subscribed threads.

Thinking that I may have clicked 'restore down' instead of the close button, I tried again. I came to the forums and clicked on a thread and as soon as it started to load, I closed it and sure enough, a new window opened with the thread that I had clicked on.

Next experiment was to close a window with another browser open to see if it got passed my pop-up blocker, it didn't, what happened was the other browser (set on my home page) changed to MSE on the thread that I had closed the window on.

C'mon MSE towers, see if you can explain that one. :rotfl:

I have had similar things happen, I am getting to the stage were I cannot be bothered to use this site, as well as hanging and slow response, pages are now occasionally beginning to time out and not load.

I thought this forum was site feedback, no one at MSE towers appears to be reading it or is prepared to give any answers or explanations.
