Oh and having changed to a higher security setting, the site is much quicker - However, javascript then becomes a problem and certain cashback sites then tell you that your tracking may not happen because of it. What a faff......*sigh*It aint over til I've done singing....0

Agreed It's like going back to the days of dial up only worse.I refuse to alter my settings just to make this one site useable when it works perfectly with every other site.Browsing here has become so tedius I'm not looking at half the threads I used toIt's not just about the money0 -

agreed 100%!
It's a joke trying to use this site these days, and the lack of response from the MSE web team on this problem is just rude and arrogant.
There clearly is a problem, is it too much to ask that it be fixed to make the site usable again?0 -

Hi folks,
Apologies for the lack of response to this but we've been pushing out a number of projects recently that have taken up a great deal of resource. In the meantime, we have been reading this thread and when we've had some time, the Devs are trying to replicate the issues your'e experiencing. Problem is, we're not seeing what you're seeing.
I know it's frustrating when it's slow but it would be more helpful to us if you could provide some useful information at the time.
Details we're looking for are:- Browser client and version (FF, Chrome IE Safari etc.) version number is very important
- Operating system (Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac, Linux etc.)
- Broadband provider and speed
- Location (not street level but local area should suffice)
- time of issue
- Is the problem consistent or intermittent?
- How does it manifest itself? Does it happen more on first load? When you reply? At thread or board level? Just overall slowness? How long a delay are you actually experiencing?
Now we have some suspicions; slow loading of a page like you're seeing can often stem from images and/or links loading from other sites (such as the links from Twitter, FB, Google+ etc). We're also looking at our analysis software to see if that's having an effect.
On that, we do use a few pieces of this type of software to see how the site is being used but this doesn't trace back to individuals and we're only using it to find out things like:- what's most popular
- how users navigate around a page
- what's being missed
- how the new design has changed traffic flow
We're really interested in making MSE the best place to find free MoneySaving information on the Internet and to do that we need feedback information. We're not trying to hide it (it's in our Privacy Policy), this is fairly common practice throughout the web.
Thanks for bearing with us folks, we're working on it and your feedback is appreciated.

may be everyone should post their broadband speed here and we can find that the culprits
are these cheapie providers called ntl, iberpass, chat chat, plusnet etc and then ofcourse ie9
Whilst at it, could you consider cutting short long threads, please - they load slowly or sometimes never at all on alternative devices like kindle, ipad etc. Whn you click on > it turns up with error messages saying that search doesn't have any results. Also going through long threads isn't a fun experience. It is like looking for something among clutter.0 -

yes, someone should start a thread about which isp people are using and what their speed is, that would be very interesting......... mine is at just under 10 mb now, others in my street using cheapie providers are not at half my speed, think this could be part of the problem. NOT ALL the problem of course, I don't use IE, running xp on very old comp with 1gb ram !!Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0
