  • Hi - Cool New Mobiles seem to be working but still sounds a bit iffy - esp with their stringent rules on cashback!

I have been using Mobileshop.com for the last year with no problems, cashback on time and they are very clear about what bills to send. Worth having a look at their website!

  • You'll find that most online mobile retailers have very similar T&C's, they look pretty straight forward on their website. You'll find that CoolNewMobile are a pretty reputable company but like most companies you'll always find someone who has had a bad experience.
  • Hi, thanks for previous threads about whether to send 4th or 5th bills, my 120 days is up 10th September, but my last bill was dated 20 August, so I'll wait until the 5th bill arrives to send it in.

Just noticed that on my original e-mail attachment, the claims dept to send claim to has changed, different PO box & postcode, could anyone advise whether to send to original or latter address?

Also, would you recommend sending claim by recorded or special delivery?

    Thank you

This is the address that you should your claims to:

    Mobile Affiliates Ltd.
Cool New Mobile PO Box 8895
    Bingham
    Nottingham
    NG13 8XA

Also, would you recommend sending claim by recorded or special delivery?
Sending by normal delivery (cheapest option) should be sufficient (although you won't know it has been delivered until you get a reply from them to say that your claim is placed in their processing system. Sending it recorded is better as you can see who has signed for your letter, although this is not a guaranteed delivery service, whereas special delivery is guaranteed (an expensive option) and it is tracked throughout the system. I have sent each of my claims by recorded delivery. It is signed for when it gets there (by checking the RM site). :D
  • Thanks HIBS!

I actually called them today as getting paranoid (£360 cashback)

They did confirm that the bill which arrives AFTER being connected for full 120 days needs to be sent, also, as you say, the address has changed after I received my cashback claim form (I just wonder what would have happened if I hadn't spotted the different address)& the claim should be sent to the Bingham address

I've also got a contract with OSPS, and have had no probs whatsoever with my prev 2 claims after sending them recorded delivery, fantastic service from Royal Mail for small payment, even tracks on their web-site & you can even see who has signed for the envelope at the company address!

Just have to hope that my next Orange bill arrives in plenty of time, as, I understand you only have 30 days to get your claim in otherwise the WHOLE claim will be void.

You really shouldn't take that risk with CNM, because they insist on the original bill, so once it's lost, you're stuck - unless you pay the network for another one, and this all takes time.
recorded...is not a guaranteed delivery service
But do you get it back if it isn't delivered (and has a return address on the back)?
Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.

I too noticed the change of address was different on the claim form with their Contact Us address. I contacted them via email to get them to confirm which address to use to send my claim to because it was time for me to make my claim. They did confirm the new address was where all the claims had to be sent. Also in the reply they said they have amended the address on the claim form, which was good of them.

I know what you mean if you hadn’t spotted the change of address. It will probably be sent back to you??? or it might get delivered to the new address??? This is why I always check their site when I am about to make a claim, so that I can check that all the details are up to date.

[FONT=&quot]Whilst you say that you can get to check when recorded delivery items have been sent to OSPS, Royal Mail has been getting negative feedbacks when people send their claims to e2save using the paid for recorded delivery service. This is because e2save don’t sign the recorded delivery slips. This means that claimants don’t know whether or not their claims (letters) have arrived yet.

Depending on the billing cycle I think you should be able to get your Orange bills in on time. However if you haven’t received them yet and it’s time to send in your claims, I think that you can print off the pdf files of your previous (up to 3 months) airtime bills from your Orange account (if you have registered on the Orange website). I’m not too sure about whether CNM will accept them. In my opinion, I don’t see how they can’t accept them. When I had a look at the paper bill I receive off Orange and the pdf file online, all the printed account information (e.g. tariff charges, mobile numbers, name and address) are the same!

Yes that is correct. I have been tempted to save money by sending it normally...but then I will always wonder (until I get their email confirmation) to say that they have got it.
But do you get it back if it isn't delivered (and has a return address on the back)?
I'm not too sure if you get it back. Like I mentioned in this response, it may get sent back to you? or it may get delivered to the new address?? Another possibility is for them to bin it and they may say it got lost? Options on the receiving end may say that the addressee has moved, or address does not exist (in some cases) are a couple of examples and it may get send back to you.

I always photocopy my bills (so that I have a backup/spare copy should the first claim get lost) and then send it by recorded delivery so that I have proof that I have used this service to try and send my claim to them (if my claim gets lost in the post or whatever). :)
  • Thought I'd let you all know my experience with CoolNewMobile so far:

I ordered my phone on Saturday 2nd September, and according to the Terms and Conditions when I signed up I should have received the phone the following 'Tuesday/Wednesday'. I didn't, so on Saturday 9th I e-mailed onecompare to tell them I'd bought through a link on their site and heard nothing. I got a call from onecompare on Monday (11th) morning to tell me they'd contacted CNM and found a problem with my order so I needed to ring CNM. I did this and the problem was that the address I said in my order that I wanted the phone delivering to was not my cardholder address, so they couldn't process the order. I gave them my cardholder address and said it would be fine to send it there. They said they'd need to run a new credit check on the cardholder address so the order would be delayed. I then got a call on Monday 18th to say that my address didn't match my card - they thought I'd said that my original delivery address was my cardholder address. I corrected them, am told a credit check then has to be started again, and then the order can go through. Today, Wednesday 20th, I get a call saying they don't have my phone in stock any more, but can offer me it in a different colour, which I tell them is fine. They say I should receive it on Friday 22nd.

So after all this, I should finally have it within 3 weeks of originally ordering. Incidentally, my girlfriend ordered a phone from CNM as well on the same day I did and had the same problem of trying to order it to an address different to that associated with her card, rang them up the same day I did, and got her phone last week (maybe her phone manner's better than mine as they didn't confuse her address! :))

So to sum up, make sure you put your EXACT right address on your order to start with and presumably you'll avoid all these problems. It's annoying not being able to e-mail CNM (bounces straight back), but I must say that they are polite and helpful over the phone. Also, use this number: 01270412260 instead of the 0870 number. It's a normal landline number so won't cost too much, and my calls were less than 5 minutes, and wasn't kept waiting on hold. Onecompare were also helpful when I asked for their assistance (I hadn't tried phoning CNM at that point). Although annoyed at not getting my order processed as quickly as they'd claimed, all it took was some nice people on customer service calling me to make me feel reassured that problems were being rectified and to have more confidence in my order with this company.

I'll let you know if my phone does come on Friday. Now for the fun of trying to get my bills in to claim the cashback!
