Stratford Friday 17th August - anything Olympic to see/do?

staying in dartford 12th and 13th aug
I am staying at a travelodge in dartford on the 12th and 13th of august, coming from yorkshire on the train, where would i be able to go to soak up some of the closing ceremony atmosphere? I dont know the area at all but i beleive there is a train station very close to the hotel.

I need to collect my tickets from Stratford and was wondering if the Javelin service was free? I only have oyster PAYG. I was told that it was a complimentary service that they were running and all the ticket barriers would be open, can someone please advise. I don't want a £20 penalty fare.
