Can you upgrade childs ticket to adult?

I was wondering if people know if and how you can upgrade a childs ticket to an adult ticket? (could you also give me a relevant link to info).
We have some para athletics tickets which we ordered months ago for our family not knowing it would be our sons first day at preschool, so we want to pass them to friends.
I read all the fine print on the ticketing website and can't find anything.

Yes. When I went I was talking to someone who needed to do this. They were directed to the ticket offices that are just before the entrance where they could buy an upgrade. Assume this will be the same for paras.0
