London Euston to Olympic Park

Options
I'm staying at the Euston travel Inn the night before the paralympic games. According to the travel website I need to get a bus, then a tube and walk. Would it make more sense for me to walk to Kings Cross/ St Pancras and just get the javelin ( which I've read about but don't know what it is!) from there? It seems the easiest option to me, so why are they suggesting something else?

The TFL website is probably directing you to West Ham, they are getting people to go there and walk from West Ham to avoid being overloaded at Stratford. It is a long walk from West Ham (although easy to follow). Personally I would get the Javelin from Kings Cross, it's nicer and faster and generally less people use that than the tube.
  • The best thing is to walk up to St PAncras, where you catch the JAvelin train directly to the park. We did this twice during the Olympics and it worked really well. THere are signs all over the station and people directing you to the right platform.

A very easy journey and a magnificent experience when you get there!

The javelin is pricey if you didnt get a zone 1-9 travelcard with your paralympic tickets.
For the olympics they had about a million volunteers at West Ham and all along the route to the olympic park/stratford. IT made the journey really pleasant as everyone was so friendly /happy/enthusiastic., you didnt even notice the time it itook to walk.
During the olympics -not sure if it'll happen againfor the paralympics, the javelin journey of 6ish minutes was overshadowed by really long queues to get onto it at St Pancras - I heard that at its peak thewait to get on the javelin was over an hour.
Personally cant wait for the paralympics if the as C4 puts it "the warm-up" games were anything to go by

We must have been very lucky both times we used the Javelin, as there qwere no queues and the trains were not at all full - we caught them at about 9.15am on the Sundays...................

We caught the javelin home. When you come out of the park, make sure you take the left turning to Stratford International.

We went up on two days and both times we were warned about Stratford being "excessively busy and long queues" and were told to get off at West Ham. We ignored the advice both times, as we were early for our event. When we got to Stratford we just strolled through the station. I think the games people are trying to keep people out of Stratford station at all costs.

that was my sister's experience as well. They were at Olympic Park on Super Saturday, and were advised when they left to go to West Ham, not attempt Stratford International. They went to Stratford anyway, and didn't wait at all to get on the javelin.
