Cheapest photo mugs?
Hello, I wondered where people get photo mugs from? In the past I have got them free with £2 postage from snapfish during a special offer but I doubt they will do that before Christmas. I can't find any for under £6, has anyone seen them cheaper than that? Thanks :xmastree:

Anyone Remember M&S Iced Madeira Cakes?
About 20 years ago someone got me an M&S plain iced madeira cake. Pretty sure it had royal icing on top, a really thick layer, and came adorned with a little plastic holly leaf. Came in a red box. It was absolutely GORGEOUS. I've tried asking M&S if they still do them but got no reply. Has anyone seen them lurking in…

Giving cash as a present. How to make it more exciting to open?
My older son (13) has asked for cash from everyone for Christmas this year, as he wants to build his own computer. So i am giving him £100, my mum is giving him £50 and my sister is giving him £30. I would like to make it a bit more exciting than just opening an envelope, especially since his younger brother will have…

Thrifty Christmas at last!
This morning I got my "Christmas" credit card bill - I call it that because I like to get all my pressie shopping out of the way by the end of November so I can concentrate on menu planning and getting the house ready. With just one (minor) present left to buy I have managed to cut my Christmas gift spending in HALF this…

Best Place To Buy Champagne?
Hi, I like to give Champagne as xmas presents to a few people. Last year I got a bottle of Bollinger for £25 in Sainsburys, but this year it is £40 odd quid! Has anybody seen any Bollinger or Veuve Clicquot for around £25 anywhere? I can see its £32.50 in Tesco but thats still a bit steep. Thanks.

Anyone seen a cheap angel costume/white dress (for school play)
I am struggling to find a cheap option for my daughter's costume - she is 5 and is an angel in the school play this year. I don't have a sewing machine and not much time to sit and sew by hand so wondered if anyone has seen any cheap options for an angel outfit or white dress that I could buy for her. Thank you.

promise chequebook
Ive decided to give my aunt & uncle a promise cheque book for Christmas. They are both in their 70's & whilst in good health my uncle has Alzheimers. Present ideas help needed for 30 yo
This year, due to a squeeze on our finances my hubby and I have agreed to spend slightly less on each other for Christmas. With this in mind I was thinking about getting him a more 'fun' present (probably toys) but I am having trouble finding anything. I thought of one of the things from Lego that you have to build up from…

Where can I buy and e-gift card, non store specific
Hi everyone. Looking to use your collective knowledge. In the USA, there is a facility to buy an online visa gift card. You send it as a gift and the 'card number' can be used as a visa card to make online purchases. But I've not been able to find a UK equivalent. I want to buy an e-gift card so it can be sent by email,…

Making bars of Chocolate as Christmas gifts.
 I'm hoping to make chocolate bars as small Christmas gifts this year, but am a bit stumped at which Chocolate is the best to use. Also, would I need to temper it? Would the bars not hold their solidity if I didn't? I'd really appreciate any help. I can rustle up a cake and biscuits no probs, but I'm a bit perplexed…

Amazon Price Movements!
Just wondered if anyone has noticed this happening at any other time of the year. I usually add items I think my kids will want (or say they want) to a wish list in the few months up to Christmas, to make sure I have a decent choice when the time comes! Anyway, in the last few weeks I have noticed the prices of some items…

Great cheap Christmas Tree hunt?
Evening! I'm after a Christmas tree to brighten up my classroom and for a bit of Christmassy/subject related homework - I'm going to be paying for it myself, so don't want to pay much for one... I think I remember buying one from the pound shop during my university days (2000ish), but can't really recall all that well. I…
