promise chequebook

Ive decided to give my aunt & uncle a promise cheque book for Christmas. They are both in their 70's & whilst in good health my uncle has Alzheimers. My son used to pop round for a chat & help them in their garden however he's now in Australia for a year or so & my aunt misses him & conversations. So this is where my idea for promises came in. I have put in
Mow the lawn
Tidy the garden
Coffee, cake & chat
Hair dressers time (uncle needs looking after while aunt has hair done
And now Im stuck.. any more ideas (they will be greatly appreciated! )

Do a small shop run for them if them esp if the weathers bad
Drive them to do a big shop (if you drive)
Maybe cook a meal at either your house or theirs
If your uncle requires constant care, your aunt may really appreciate a long soak in the bath? Or even an afternoon shopping? Or spend time with friends? While you care for your uncle
A photo afternoon (you could just collect photos from other family members, have a coffee and spend a good time going through them together)
Do they play any games? Card games? Jigsaws? Etc? You could play with them
Do they have any pets? You could walk the dog, clean the rabbit cage or whatever
If they have a car you could clean it for them?
You could spend an afternoon doing nails (I always did my nanas toenails when she started to age as she struggled to bend down to do them, but I know not everyone can face this)
They may appreciate you going through their utility bills to see if their on the best deals, but as this is personal, maybe they wouldn't like a voucher for it, but could be something to discuss when you have your coffee and cake afternoon
A walk and a picnic if you are near any parks or greenery
A nighttime telephone call
I hope this gives you some ideas. For the record I think this is a lovely thing you are doingMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
Thank you, some lovely ideas will use most if them. They have recently lost all their koi & their beloved dog, so my aunt is feeling very low, especially now as my uncle is getting worse. She is extremely independent & awkward to buy for. Time is something I have, which I'm happy to give.0

I don't think coffee and a chat should be in the book - you should do that anyway!!0

The coffee, cake & chat is me taking them out rather than just popping round for a coffee.0

Have none to offer as mine were similar to ones already posted but want to say what a lovely idea and so thoughtful of you. It's easy to give a box of chocs or flowers but you're actually giving something more precious ..your time .You've inspired me to do this for members of my family, I thank you for that.Well done you.Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0
