Where can I buy and e-gift card, non store specific

Hi everyone. Looking to use your collective knowledge.
In the USA, there is a facility to buy an online visa gift card. You send it as a gift and the 'card number' can be used as a visa card to make online purchases. But I've not been able to find a UK equivalent.

I want to buy an e-gift card so it can be sent by email, but that is not store specific so the user can spend the gift card anywhere. Been searching for an hour and not able to find anything suitable anywhere.

Anyone got any ideas please?

There's love to shop vouchers that can be used in hundreds of shops. Not sure if they can be sent by email but can't see why not

I'm looking for more of a pre-paid visa e-card that can be used to shop online. The eventual shopping destination doesn't offer gift cards or vouchers of their own so the e-card needs to be generic.

In the usa you can buy a visa e-card for any amount and spend it online anywhere. Trying to find something like that.

I did look at that option, but these cards are set up on your own account and are for your own permanent and recurring use. Intended to be pre-funded credit cards, rather than one off gift cards. They also don't do an online version, just a physical one and you can't buy them in someone elses name - only yours.

Yes these are what I want - but I can't pop into Argos or Tesco because I'm working overseas right now. Which is why I wanted to buy them online, rather than a physical card. The link you sent was for the US version, and you CAN buy them online - but only with a US card. Which of course I don't have.

Keep going round and round and the answers are always the same - tried calling lots of the US Visa e-card suppliers and none will take a UK registered card.

Round and round and getting nowhere!

Yes I think this is the only option. I wanted an e-card really so I could get it right away. Buying this online now means getting it sent to a relative in the UK and then sent out to me here in the Caribbean. Won't get here for around 6 weeks, if it gets here at all!
