Present help please for awkward nan
Hi all :) having racked my brains for the last 4 months, I am still super stuck on what to buy for my nan. She's 78, hates anything "old person" (including, but not limited to: gardening, knitting/crocheting, grandkids and great grandkids "craft messes" - her words not mine - and photos, candles, bath/shower stuff,…

how many christmas cards do you send/receive?
We used to get lots and lots of cards when all the family was alive, but as older members pass away, we now get less and less every year. At work we had a vote and decided to give money to charity instead of sending everyone in the office cards, a much better idea that will last longer that the christmas week. So the only…

gifts for teenage girls - help
Help! I have 2 teenage girls to buy for - 16 and 14. Both really into their looks and use expensive products. Always have the latest phone and tablets etc. Have about £20-£25 to spend. I don't really want to buy vouchers. Any ideas? Their mum says to 'get them whatever'.

Suggestions please for present for couple
A couple in their late 40s/early 50s. With a 4yr old and 1yr old twins. Someone else has already got them a hamper which was my initial idea! They have said no to smellies. Offers to babysit etc wouldn't be practical. Any ideas?

A useful tip when gift-wrapping presents
When wrapping presents, it can be hard to keep the pretty paper in place whilst trying to snip pieces of sticky-tape and apply them neatly to the package. Solution: A "yellow sticky" note (or several if it's a big gift) will hold the pretty paper in place temporarily while you manage the sticky-tape and ribbon. Sorted! :)

Help at Christmas
My DS told me this evening that two of his friends are really struggling to survive day to day living :( They are in their early 20's and earn the basic wage with two young children. They have no money to celebrate Christmas, and my son hates the thought of this. I'd like to help them enjoy Christmas & donate toys…

Hi, I am drawing a complete blank on what to get my dad for his birthday. He doesn't like golf or football so that rules out almost anything that pops up in online searches lol! Anyone done the "Buy £25 full-size Xmas tree at Ikea, get £20 voucher" deal?
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/ikea We saw this last year and were tempted but our nearest store isn't that close and we worried the tree might be rubbish like when you get a "free gift worth £99.99" :) Can anyone vouch for the general quality - are they as good as anywhere else?

Panatone swatches... Does anyone know where to get these from?
Preferably for free. I know I can get the swatches for £6 from the dessy website but this doesn't seem to be very money saving - quite frustrating when you've just spent £450 on 3 bridesmaid dresses that you then have to buy a swatch to take around with you  http://www.dessy.com/pantone/swatches/ Any help would be…

defrosting turkey and storing it in fridge
I will be having a frozen turkey for Christmas dinner this year. I am worried that it will still be 'frozen' in the middle when time to cook it. (I have defrosted one in a large bucket of water before when it had ice inside !). I followed the defrosting instructions on the packaging i.e. x number of hours in the fridge but…
