how many christmas cards do you send/receive?

We used to get lots and lots of cards when all the family was alive, but as older members pass away, we now get less and less every year.
At work we had a vote and decided to give money to charity instead of sending everyone in the office cards, a much better idea that will last longer that the christmas week.
So the only cards we send and receive now are a 2 to family, a few to very close friends and 3 to neighbours. I've bought 2 packs of 10, that's plenty for us, we'll even have some spare, just in case.
How about you?

Well used to do around 100 but with postage so much have tired to cut down to around the 60 mark.
Try to hand deliver as many as possible and do ecards for those who are away and on email.
I love getting cards and have six ribbons from ceiling with cards stapled on - it adds to the decorations.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -

I fell out with family so they can get stuffed ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
Probably the same as you, about ten. Just my brother, husband, DD, and a few close friends.
Everyone else I verbally wish a happy Christmas or drop an email to those who are too far away.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

But you can make the house look better decorated by putting last years and year befores back up.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The big drop-off was the huge hike in postage a couple of years ago. I stocked up on stamps before then and therefore did that Christmas as normal, but received far fewer in return, so took the hint. Now, two packs of 10 will do me fine, along with the spares from previous years for emergency last minute ones. Agree that sending loads at work is daft - I just do actual friends at work. One place I worked, there was a small tea room we all used, so everyone wrote one card for the noticeboard to brighten the room up and save money at the same time.0

over the last few years Ive been culling the numbers, and as were a 3 generation house, where as I would have wrote one from each of the 3 of us, unless there a special person then its one card of the 3 of us.
for parents, myself and those for dd I write - 80 cards, and post about 30 cards xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
That's a good idea about saving cards and putting them up again SailorSam. Have to go for next year though.I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea0

I wouldn't bother and would just wish people Merry Christmas either with a phone call or a visit in person, but the old people like to get cards as well so I give a few. Don't really post any. It seems like they compete with their mates over who has the most on display and therefore who has most family/friends who love them most.0

Likewise I've had a purge of my list this year. About a third of the cards I send & receive are from people (mostly ex-work colleagues) I haven't seen for years and never likely to again. If I am in touch at all it's via social media anyway and the cost of postage means it makes no sense any more. I still send to family, 'real' friends & neighbours so I've reduced my list from 35 down to under 20.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250
