I send about 70 I think, although mine are all hand-made by me. I would only send an e-card as a last resort if the only way of contacting someone as it just isn't the same to me.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I've cut back considerably, mainly due to the cost of postage - which is a shame as I think the cost of cards has come down. I used to have to stock up in the Jan sales to get the amount I needed at a sensible cost.
This year I have about 30 on my list - about 20 of which will need posting.
I do think it's ok to cut back on people you hardly see any more (apart from the odd old friend that always sends a nice letter) but must admit that when someone I know well tells me they are "not doing cards this year" I do think they are a bit miserable. I like to receive cards and put them up as part of my decorations.0 -
I give them to our immediate families but more because they expect them. I think they're a waste of money and I'm not fussed about giving or receiving them.
We are still on a pack of 20 cards that I bought a few years ago! :rotfl:0 -
I stopped given them last year as I couldn't justify the postage and I have always had a policy of not giving them to people who I see near Christmas as I can verbally wish them a happy time. I usually relent and send couple to the elderly friends of the family who don't get all this new fangled Internet malarky but I say Happy Christmas over facebook to everybody else. Kind of tight but what is the point of posting bits of card to each other?"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

I haven't sent any Christmas cards for the last few years as I would rather donate to charity (my charity of choice is the Salvation Army), I do receive a few cards but not so many.Jo x:A0

I only send cards through the post to my mum and my aunts, as they do expect them (and display them all) so I do it, and don't really grudge doing so.
I don't send/give cards to anyone else who I will actually see over the christmas period. I don't display my cards either, they get put in a pile on the living room window sill until i'm taking my decorations down at new year, then the cards get binned.0 -
On the whole, I do not send cards....birthday or Christmas...they are too expensive really for a bit of card that goes on to the mantle-piece for a week or so and then is binned (or hopefully recycled!) - and that's before you count the extortionate postage!
I do not send many cards....generally I make a few for special friends, cross stich embroidery usually.
For others. I will send an e-mail....maybe design my own e-card with images I know they wii appreciate
Having moved in to sheltered housing I send a cars to some of the residents her...for some of them it may well be the only card they get.0 -
I send a lot more cards than I receive, very few younger people send out cards. But as long as they enjoy receiving them then I'm happy!0

if I'd kept in touch with old friends then I'd send about 80. Sadly i have lost touch with many people and now only send about 35.0

I send very few Christmas cards now.
We, too, started donating to charity at work rather than buying cards, and I do it every year now.0
