Cheap train tickets to London for regular social events
My wife and I go to London about once a month on social occasions, we would like to go more often but the train fair including a travelcard for the underground (off peak) costs us £17.50 each travelling in from Maidenhead on FGW into Paddington. Does anyone know if First Great Western do annual social off peak annual deals…

TFL laughing all the way to the bank... again!
Was thinking of all the money TFL is saving by not having to run the Piccadilly Line. Will any commuters get any compensation for the service TFL are charging for but not providing? How much extra money will TFL make from payg users forced to get an additional bus to get to a working tube station?..... and back! Yet again…

Not a rant about cyclists - just a question
https://postimg.cc/gallery/299f522k8/ So I drive to work because I have to. On the days I don't need the car I cycle and use the cycle lanes. I'm not precious about my bike and use it as I use the car, a tool to fulfil a function. For the past few days I have noticed what I would class as sporting cyclists using a…

Train/Tube Fare Map
Hello fellow money-savers, I am a bit obsessed with saving money on train fares and I am also a software engineer who likes maps so I created http://faremap.ml . It is free/non-commercial and open-source and there's no affiliate links or ads or nonsense. Its purpose is to display UK train and Oyster fares on a colourful…

Virgin Seat Sale
Any idea on when we can expect the next Virgin Seat Sale? They used to be at least three times a year, but I haven't seen one on standard seats in ages! There was one for first class travel a few months ago. I liked booking random trips away when the sale was on! :)

Milton Keynes to Leicester
Trying to get a good deal on train fares to Leicester from Milton Keynes tomorrow, however despite splitting the tickets at Rugby and using my daughters 16 -26 railcard (she is travelling too) we can only seem to get a day return for £48.30 the pair. Seems somewhat pricey when tickets to London and Birmingham are much…

National express overbooking from Stansted
National express claim to never overbook. I found today that this is not the case. I arrived before the departure time and waited in the queue, as I got to the front I was told the bus was full and I would have to wait for the next one. This resulted in me missing a connection from London Victoria, having to wait an hour…
