Have I Purchased A Valid Ticket?
I am planning a trip to London from the South West in August travelling by train on GWR. Everything I have read and advice from an earlier post lead me to believe advance tickets go on sale approx 12 weeks in advance. I set a reminder on Trainline for when tickets go on sale but was surprised last week to be told my…

Worst commute on Northern Trains?
Watched the "HS2: The Great Train Robbery" and it highlighted how bad the Northerns train are around Manchester area. This is no good to me as I am there to watch the football. What are my rights, surely they must pay for a taxi to Cardiff, the…

Nectar points for Virgin trains
A while ago I mistakenly redeemed Nectar points for Virgin trains, not noticing that I could then only get East Coast Virgin (now LNER, I know). They expire in May but I have no likelihood of ever using them on that route. Do you know if they are transferable to someone else to use? Seems a shame to let them go to waste.

So, here's the simple question: Can my newly turned 16yr old son buy a family & friends railcard for him and his 15yr old mate?
