Electricity bill excessively high ??
Hi, first time poster (be gentle, lol) I'm having some dispute with my ex-landlord due to cost of electricity bills that she has provided my flatmate and I. She uses a company called isupply energy for the electricity in the apartment (2 bed in London, so trying to be realistic about pricing expectations). The problem is…

Installing a Log Burner in a Smoke Free Zone
Hello, I have just found out that the area I live in has a 'smoke control order'. It says I can burn smokeless fuels- can I have a multi fuel burner and burn smokeless fuels? I don't want a gas or electric fire. Is there a way around getting a multi fuel burner but still abiding by the smoke control order? I.e- is there…

Hot water only if radiators are also on!!
Hi All I have noticed that water will only be hot if I also switch on the radiators!! Was fine when we moved in in the winter but now that we don't need the heating we noticed this? Do you recon this is an electric fault or a simple setup of the heating controls? Anyone had this issue? Regards Catia :)

Help please LPG and leaks!!
I would really appreciate some help from hopefully, someone that understands LPG. I live in a mobile home and three times I have had a LPG leak. At 5am today I was woken up by a dreadful smell of gas and my cooker has leaked again. My landlord says it's not dangerous but for the last two weeks I've been very unwell again…

Energy Supplier thinks I’ve left them
Can anyone help I recently contacted Green Star Energy as I hadn’t received a bill from them since September and was worried that I would receive a very large one. I was horrified to be told that I had swapped supplier in February, I actually hadn’t as my contracts ended in May and I would have incurred a £60 exit fee if I…

EDF - problem with final bill
Hi guys, Hope I am posting this in the right category. So I am having a complete nightmare with EDF regarding a final bill from them after I switched supplier. A bit of a back story: I was with EDF for a number of years, mother always sent me estimated bills that I would have to correct by sending them actual meter readings…

Stuck with complex meter
I was wondering if anyone could help me get my complex meter changed to an ordinary one without paying out for an expensive electrician. I live in a one bedroomed flat and am supplied electricity by Npower by virtue of an E7 complex meter with 2 MPANS. I have had nothing but trouble with them and am sure I have been…

British Gas
I left British Gas because of the hassle I got over Smart Meters. But boy has it been difficult. Firstly they split my gas and electricity to end each separately, at the end they informed me I was owed £50 quid, so I was waiting for a refund. After a while I got an email from them to say I owed them £70 odd quid and as I…

Who is my gas supplier?.......
I bought a house 7 weeks ago and still haven't found put who supplies my gas. I rang Co op energy (the previous owner said it was them) - they denied all knowledge (although they DO supply my electricity), asked for my meter number, looked it up on a database and said it was EDF. Rang EDF-said it was not them-couldn't find…

My parent's who do not use a computer but do have an email address have been unable to get British Gas to send them their Home care agreement by post - three times they have phoned and three times it's been sent again by Email and not by Post. Should they quit? They never actually gave British Gas their email by the way -…

Gas v Open v Burner question
Hello Currently we have a Stovax 5 multifuel burner which we have had for some 4 or 5 years. It is OK - when it gets hot it is lovely, but when we have had the really cold weather it doesn't do much to touch the room, and sometimes find the quality of wood has caused problems. We have quite a large open plan lounge - we…

Best way to heat a space
Does anyone know the best way to heat a space currently without heating so we can actually use it during the winter? It is 24ft long x 9ft wide x 13ft high (vaulted ceiling) it is an infill between our garage & house. It's properly insulated. The mains gas supply is right behind the wall in there in the garage. We can not…

Gas tank
I have a 2nd viewing of a property shortly. The property is empty (probate sale) and the agents know little. Boiler is supplied by a gas tank in the garden. I am hoping to be able to switch the boiler on (I know - optimitic!), but is there a way to tell if there's gas in the tank? Do they have a guage? On the tank or in…

Rointe Reviews
Hi All, I am about to remove the costly panel heaters in my home! I cannot get gas unfortunately. I was looking into options in terms of easy instillation and the option to program the heaters, and of course the cost of running the things. Has anyone had experience with these heaters?

Oil Prices
New to oil and the tank is showing a quarter. We moved over Easter and know the gauge is working as it was just over. We are lucky that at the moment we aren't using any as when we get up and in from work it's just a case of an electric shower and for the minimal water use for washing up etc we have just been using the…
