The cheapest renewal price for my car insurance is through my automatically generated renewing with my current provider. I bought this policy through a comparison site 2 years ago, they offer £250 free excess cover. Will I still get this benefit if I renew direct with my current provider? The comparison site has not…

Do I need to declare a roofbox to my car insurers (Admiral)?
Hi, Do I need to declare a roofbox to my car insurers (Admiral)? Couldn't see roofbox among the modifications you can declare on their website. Closest I can see is Lockable Toolbox, but that's not it. I rang and the lady said no, I don't need to declare it. I asked if she could send an email confirming this but, guess…

Hastings insurance trying to charge me for nothing
I recently took out a new policy with Hastings Direct, scheduled to begin next month, with the payment due in a few weeks. Since obtaining the policy, I was involved in a non-fault accident, and the other party’s insurance has accepted full liability. I informed Hastings Direct about this incident via email. They responded…

Third parties insurers harassment
I wrote on here a week or so ago about how I hadn’t heard from my solicitor in months following RTA claim. Household insurance excess cover. To claim or not?
Hi, one of my bifold doors shattered due to thermal stress. Not sure whether or not to claim on my insurance. It'll cost about £200 to replace. Got a free £250 excess policy with Go Compare. Just worried that it may push up future home insurance renewals. Any advice greatly received.

Buildings Insurance goes up 100% for leaseholders in a London borough
I am shocked to recently realise that the estimated Insurance costs for our flat of which we are the leaseholders has increased this year (2024-25) by over 100%!! I am awaiting a reply as to how this can be justified and I am wondering if anyone out there has had the same experience and what they did about it.

Hello there Forumites. A loss assessor is someone you appoint to fight your corner with an
insurance claim (so we're not talking about a loss adjuster, who's appointed by
the insurer to assess claims). We want to know if you've ever used an assessor,
whether they were helpful, and if they were worth the money. Please let…

Group Income Protection after leaving employment
A company I worked for had a Group Income Protection plan with Legal & General. In 2016 I made a claim, which was rejected. I appealed but they still rejected it because they say it was caused by 'stress at work' (whereas, in reality, underlying depression caused an extreme response to changes at work). I left that…
