I'm freaking out bit, when i was parking my car tonight ,someone had parked over the disabled bay lines, I stupidity decided to park and accidentally scraped my car for on the post. My car is motability, I've had it 7 months, I've been on the scheme for 9 years , now I've not had any issues since my first car back in 2015 where my first car got vandalised twice, in 2017 someone broke in to my apartment got my key and stolen my car, luckily I was OK to get a replacement, My previous 2 cars had no issues with at all ,perfect condition. I'm just worried now that if I claim on this it my prevent me from getting another car on the scheme when my renewal up. Since my illness i rely in my car, for my doctors appointment, monthly medical treatment . I just don't know what to do or how much it would cost to get it fixed myself. My pip isn't up for renewal untill 2028 I was planning on kepting the car for 5 years. Does anyone have any suggestions.

I don't see any likelihood of you being refused another car in the future simply on the basis that youve had one accident in the past 7 years.

You don't really have any option. You need to tell the insurance, and the insurance is linked to Motability.
I wouldn't worry though, before I bought my van I had a series of Motability cars. Over about 16 years I had a rear shunt that needed a fair bit of work, but was a non fault claim. A wing mirror pulled off by the bin lorry who denied it and so that was a fault claim, and then my 2 year old Astra Estate was written off whilst parked outside my house. The other car somehow drove off (snapped my axle so hit with some force) and the police just gave a crime ref, didn't even attend and so it was treated as a fault claim because there was no third party to claim against. They sent a hire car and then once it was confirmed as a write off I reordered a new car. There was never any issue.
Ironically my biggest issue with Motability, apart from it's not actually a very economical way to own a car, was they, and especially their insurers, are extremely difficult to deal with if you're deaf. I gave my last car back after a year and bought a van that's now a camper, much more fun about the same cost

You're hardly the first person to scrape a Motability car while parking, and you certainly won't be the last. And claims from 2015 are ancient history as far as insurers are concerned, which is why most consumer policies will only ask you if you've had any claims in the last 5 years, or even 3 years in many cases. This is not going to stop you getting another car in future. Claim on your insurance; it's what you pay then for0
