As I live on a road classified as a C road it isn't as simple as just applying to the council, i need to do a full planning application. Is this something i should pay a professional to do or I can complete on my own ? Id imagine all…

Constant sewage flooding and Thames Water not fixing mains
Any advice here appreciated. There is a broken sewage mains in front of our house. It keeps getting blockages and the only escape is the open drain at the side of our house. We live halfway down a hill and the sewage gushes out, flooding our garden, our neighbours garden downhill from us, and ultimately 2 other properties…

Dry ridge system query
I've had a new roof fitted and was told I'd be supplied with a new dry ridge system. Should this have included new ridges? The roofer has used most of my existing ridges. New ones have been put in where the old ones have cracked when stripping the roof. Should I query this or do most roofers use old ridges?

Which security camera? Neos Smartcams now defunct!
My Neos Smartcams have done a great job over the years. Cannot complain at all. Their continuous recording has been very useful indeed. And other than the £25 outlay for each camera (I have 3) they haven't cost me a penny in subscriptions. But as of this month the app discontinued and the footage can only be used when…

Cooking fumes in my kitchen from the flat below
I've always had extremely strong cooking smells coming up from the flat downstairs (Indian food), but the other day I walked into my kitchen and there were cooking fumes, I mean my kitchen was foggy. I raised it with the directors of the freehold (I am one of them, it's a share of freehold) as a compartmentation issue and…

Advice needed on bathroom accessories (towel rails, mirror cabinets?)
Hi everyone, I’m currently renovating my flat and could use some advice on bathroom fittings. First, does anyone have recommendations for good electric towel rail brands? I’ve noticed they come in standard or thermostatic options, with the latter sometimes including a timer. I’m considering either going for a thermostatic…

Screwing tiny screws into plaster
I bought an LED light strip to go up on my wall, and it comes with plastic clips to mount it with and screws to fix them to the wall (in case you're curious: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CXPPYQQ5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title). The screws are tiny - 2mm diameter and 12mm long - and the instructions say nothing about…

I live in a terraced house, and my neighbor has installed decking that runs off to the corner and is over 4 feet high. As a result, I can no longer maintain my front porch. Since my porch is wooden, I’ve noticed some rot, but I have no access to fix it due to the height of the decking. Additionally, the decking is…

Best option for a fixed-price boiler repair - 'commercial' premises.
Hi.Our yoof group's WB Highflow 440 has gone kaput, and our regular GasSafe has said it's the pump. He's off on his hols so can't replace it, so suggested we get WB or similar out for a FPR, with the potential added benefit that they'll replace anything else that's dodgy too. Before I pass that recommendation on…

How can I tidy cables to TV on wall?
